Alzoc 3 - Blizzard [Released!]

So here I am again, now to announce my new upcoming map. This map is going to take place on Alzoc 3, a frozen snowy planet. The map will feature some forests, a frozen lake that I'm still going to try to create and a sort of abandoned mining facility featuring some tunnels and some other cool stuff.
Here are some pictures showing a few parts of the map:
If somebody wants to beta test it, I'd just like you to explain me how this
betatesting thing works (since I am still a rookie at modding and I have no clue how people get maps to test

)
BETATESTERS (no more spots left):
Fiodis
THEWULFMAN
agentsmith38
ARCTroopaNate
SpartanA259
Lephenix
Marth8880

The atmosphere seems really great and the lights and effects are matching really well.
Keep it up

Great atmosphere. I like it quite a bit. Though the presence of stock assets disappoints me. Custom models would benefit this map greatly.

Really like the atmosphere! Youve put a good use to stock assets, too.

I love what you've done with the atmosphere, very nice.

I disagree; the Mygeeto buildings fit pretty well imho, and even the Endor tree doesn't seem terribly out-of-place (though maybe a slight reskin to add a touch of frost could go a long way). I lol'd when I realized that the Tatooine buildings actually
don't stick out terribly, though again, a reskin might make them fit even better.
And I would love to beta. Different people have different ways of doing beta tests, but what seems to be most common is a private beta, where people sign up for a limited number of spots on a list, then the modder sends a PM to those people with the link to the beta download and a password, if the file is password-protected.
The beta testers then play through it a few times in different modes/eras and point out bugs to fix as well as general suggestions. It's a quite useful setup, usually.

I Concur. :plokoon:
The screenshots look quite promising.
Stock assets are fine as long as you give them a decent reskin.

I would also like to beta.

OK. I'd like to thank Fiodis for
the definition of beta testing. So, now that I already know what it is, I'm looking for 5 beta testers.
Fiodis,
THEWULFMAN and
agentsmith38 are in, so I'm looking for 2 more...
And thanks for the positive comments guys.
EDIT: Sorry SpartanA259, I almost missed you

I'll Betatest. This map looks great! Love the atmosphere. IMO that's what really makes a map, the feel you get when playing it. Good job

Absolutely stunning work, GAB. The screenshots look promising so far. I completely agree with ANDEWEGET and Fiodis on your use of stock assets.
Fiodis wrote:the Tatooine buildings actually don't stick out terribly, though again, a reskin might make them fit even better.
Agreed here. Perhaps you could reskin those buildings to fit the scheme of the Mygeeto, GAB? I think that could work out well.
Also, if you want to use them, bobfinkl released some snow-covered foliage textures
here for the Endor flora.
One last suggestion: If you add glow to the street lamps depicted in the fifth screenshot, I think it could add more to the lonely
Lion, the Witch, and the Warobe feeling that you have going on.

I didn't say that they didn't look good or didn't fit; I was simply trying to say that I am quite sick of seeing the same assets over and over again. I'm not going to hold the usage of stock assets against any maps though, I'm just tired of them.

This map looks beautiful! I'm sure you must have a unique ambient sound stream to go with the atmosphere...right?

I don't know if you have these ingame or not, but they seem pretty useful for something like this.

However, I like the atmosphere. I just wanted help make it a little better.
