Coming soon ... Pestox (Urban Wasteland)

Hi all!

These are some screens of a map I am currently working on.

This map will feature GCW conquest only.
The scene is settled in an urban area after some sort of thermonuclear orbital bombardment.
As you can see from the screens I did quite a few side edits aswell,... in fact, I changed all the weapon stats and slowed down the units in order to get a more ... well... "realistic" feel.

The map is in its final stages... the things i yet have to do are more or less cosmetic changes, fixing bad object placements, AI behavior and so on...

WOW! :shock: All these newbies to Gametoast are just rippin out maps like none other. And they look good, really good.

Oh man, that stormtrooper in the second pic look wicked.
Did you reskin the mygeeto objects? I cant tell with all the toxic fumes.
Heres an idea: the shotgun isnt a very good jetpack weapon. You should replace it with something more aimable.
This is gonna be good, i can tell.

This looks like it should be fun.
My only request/idea would be to reskin/replace the rebel engineer model. It gets old.

REALLY good job on the effects/feeling of the map.

The atmosphere of this map is amazing. Really looks like a war-torn city should. Very dark and gloomy. I love it. Can't wait to try this one out.

Thanks for the positive feedback so far...
This isn´t my first map. Including all my unfinished never seen projects it is about my tenth... but it will be the fourth I am going to publish ... and it is a bit of a synthesis of my Raxus Prime map and the Planet Z map I once made for Battlefront 1...

Well I gave the jetpacked units shotguns ... I didn´t like what they did to the darktrooper in SWBF 2, so I chaned it.... the shotguns (which are Battlefront 1 style shotguns btw.) work fine, especially since I modified the Jetpacks aswell.

And yes I did a few reskinnings and texture edits to the mygeeto objects, but apart from these Bridge parts there aren´t too many mygeeto objects in the map.

Btw. the original idea of the map was indeed to make the green fumes toxic, which means I would have placed damage regions there.
I have also created a Radtrooper for the Imperial side which was supposed to be immune against these toxic fumes (perhaps by labelling him as a droid? I don´t know)

But I put that idea apart since you cannot easily distinguish the fumes from the other fog and mist effects on the map. Also I didn´t want to limit the mobility too much.

Well I needed the Rebel engineer model as a Rebel jetpack unit. Looks strange on first sight but I got used to it.
But I used the pilot models for the support troopers.

But how did you create that green "mist"?
He probably reskinned one of the geo_cloud/hoth_cloud to get it that color or made the lighting greenish....

Incredible atmosphere. Whom do you plan to include as heroes ?
Oh, I just saw it, realistic sides. Have you ever played the TEC mod ? If not, it's definately worth a look if you like realistic sides.

PS:
Could you please release a second version of this map, without custom sides, so this map stays compatible to the TEC mod or other side mods ?
