Not too bad! Try to work on the anatomical proportions and shape a little more, though.

Now that I see this new picture, I think you should make the arms a little teeny bit longer. You'd be surprised at how long peoples arms really are. I learned that in some art class... :o

Pretty darned good for a WIP. Can't wait to see the finished version.

Cleb is absolutely right, you do need to make the arms a little longer. It doesn't look like it, but the average person's armspan, fingertip to fingertip, is about the same measurement as their height. In making the model, figure out how wide the torso is, subtract that from the model's total height, divide that number by two, and that's how long each arm should be.

Yeah, now that you say so I can see the arms are short, I'll fix that up.

-EDIT-
Okay, edited arm length and did some more texturing (I noticed that I forgot the knee
pads, I'll add them next update):

-EDIT2-
I finished off a the basic texture and enveloped the commando but he was too big ingame
(Nooooo!!!! :vader2: ). Soooo, I need to make him to scale with an ordinary trooper.
Here's the newer version (backed up original):

-EDIT3-
That Nooo! should actually be a yes. Taking Marth's advice, I've been human-afying the commando (originally looked too robotic). Here's the current commando mesh:

-EDIT4-
Hopefully my last edit before someone posts on the topic:

-EDIT5-
Still no new posts  . Oh well, still going to make updates, I hope someone sees this one:

In-game at last (not completed there are still some faces that need to be cleaned up as well
as editing some weights):

The to-scaling has been completed so now I'm cleaning up some things on the mesh,
as shown in the picture I've made some texture upgrades (The boss design isn't the original
which is backed up) to make it look a little bit more real. :D

Wow! That looks pretty good in-game! Though, it looks a little too much like a clone lol, but still, very nice work.

He probably imported rep_inf_ep3trooper.msh (or whatever they called the msh).

Sorta off topic, but Nedarb, if you want to make your updates noticed, but you were the last poster, heres what you do:
Go to your post and click edit
Select everything in your post
Exit the edit (just hit back in your browser)
Delete your post
Create a new post
Paste your old post
Add your update
Click submit
And thats how you do it

Anyways, that commando looks awesome  Though I think he's missing an ammunition belt, Ive never played republic commando before, so I don't know if commandos have ammo belts like regular clones, but his torso just looks...bare and I think an ammunition belt would make it look better

Fixed. If you don't copy it, you have a problem.

Thank, yes I will release it once its finished. As in reference do you mean the ep3 clone beside the commando or an image
of a republic commando?

Thanks, which parts do you think look to clone trooper-ish?

I didn't know if that was allowed, so I'm guessing it is then?
Nope no ammo belt as far as I know. The torso texture was upgraded (seen in in-game screenshots) to make it less bare and to match that of RepComm, its just hard to see due to the arms. The pictures above the in-game are outdated really.

I just want to say one other thing: if you want to use any swbf texture then i recommend to use GATOR to take uvs from clone to your model. They will be adjusted to fit perfectly to your model AND you can use all the skins you ever made and the stock textures too

EDIT: Of course only for units.

Okay thanks for the advice, I don't think I'll be using stock textures though.

-EDIT-
Some more in-game screen shots. I've changed the knee area on the mesh as well
as tried to make the leg and arm textures more realistic (oh also I've added shoulders
and cleaned up some faces (especially the back of the upper leg which was sharp
and messy)).

Trying to show the shoulders in this one...

If you compare these screenshots with the older ones you should be able to see what I mean
by "knee area upgrades". :)

Looks pretty good. The only thing I notice is that it seems like he's always looking up. I don't know whether it's sloping on the model or the visor on the texture, something just gives that illusion. Other than that, great job!

Thanks! I think that the custom animation might be causing that effect, not 100% sure.

Maybe its the blue stripe on his visor.

Possibly, maybe I wouldn't get that effect since I'm used to it...

Anyways what is a republic commando without....

I'm making it an addon mesh so that you can pick and choose between different kinds
