Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Well, I've already pre-ordered this for the PC as I've been a bit Battlefield mad since BF2 and 2142 came out. The modding community for these games are also second to none, I just hope Dice bring out an editor for it.
I definitely would like to see a Star Wars mod with destructable environments.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC
Why don't we just make this a general discussion thread for Bad Company 2?
Not just about PC but all platforms.
But yeah, this game is pretty sweet from what I've seen.
The multiplayer looks absolutely stunning from the trailers, but I'm worried that the average IQ of the gaming community isn't quite high enough to support true, consistent teamwork online....
Hopefully Bad Company 2 will have a way around that and really make people feel that they need to work together to do well.
Oh, and I know that there's going to be a Bad Company 2 vs. Modern Warfare 2 debate, and lemme just preface anything with the fact that Modern Warfare 2 is an all-out Arcade-shooter, while Bad Company 2 is aimed more towards a complete war simulation (though still unrealistic). Two different genres.

Done! Multiplayer does look promising, and there are some new modes and a singleplayer campaign which is new for the Battlefield series on PC, at least.Taivyx wrote:Why don't we just make this a general discussion thread for Bad Company 2? Not just about PC but the whole game.
This is the latest video on Squad Based Multiplayer:

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
I'm mainly excited for this because of the Fully Destructible Environment.
Other than that, it really does look cool, though. The graphics look sweet and the mp looks fun.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Destruction 2.0 looks amazing!
I got into the Battlefield series with BF2 and I still play it today. It's just amazing and this is BF2 with a new engine and graphics. I'm totally pumped. I think the first rush of BFBC2 will be low IQ on the squad play and most will be MW2 players that'll complain on how they can't do certain stuff like in MW2 and that vehicles kill the fun. Which is a wrong statement with the battlefield series.
I'm excited to see what stupid arguments happen with MW2 vs BFBC2.
Alot of my friends and I are getting it so I'm excited to see well we can become with the squad play.
Also I think DICE said they don't plan on releasing tools til like 6months to a year after the game. I can't remember where, but it was in one of the video interviews.
In the pre-order do we get the Thompson and the pistol from 1943? or do we still have to buy 1943 when it comes out?

Lol, you just love to rip on us Call of Duty players don't you?
I'm excited for BC2 as well, and I do love MW2. I don't think they'll conflict, as Taivyx said, they're two different games and two different types of games.

Haha, actually that wasn't an intentional rip. Yes they're two completely different, but that's why I made my statement. Some MW2 players are going to spill over thinking it's just like or very similar to MW2 and complain about. Or accuse it of copying MW2's modern setting, which is incorrect.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
I think the whole argument started when IW decided not to support multiplayer, and Dice used this to promote their use of dedicated servers. It's silly really as I think each game has it's own merits. It depends on what style of gameplay you prefer.

I agree DICE is taking full advantage of the situation with IW. To the point of really? but they do do it a sarcastic funny way.

I suppose it stems from mutual respect really, and the understanding that healthy competition is what devs thrive on.Moving_Target wrote:I agree DICE is taking full advantage of the situation with IW. To the point of really? but they do do it a sarcastic funny way.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
The GT forums don't support large enough font sizes for me to just post "WANT!", so I'm not. But really, I've been looking forward to BC2 for a long now. Now the environments aren't just puncturable, they're actually destructible! There's no doubt that this is gonna replace the first BC on my "Favorite Games Of All Time" list, it looks to improve on every aspect. B-e-a-utiful. As for MW2 vs BC2, I'm already tired of MW2 (and I'm only a level 58), so it's not much of a competition for me. Anyways, since BC2 comes out in march, when I'll be halfway through my basic training, I won't get to play it for a few months. But, I WILL get my hands on it. >:D
On a side note, I hope they bring Oasis back, even if it's as DLC.

I pre-ordered mine from game.co.uk, but they don't have any info on the beta. Would that be if you pre-order the download only?Moving_Target wrote:Solid and I just beat Bad Company 1. I can't wait. PC Beta in a few days. aw yeah.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
That's a good question. They haven't been all that clear about how to preorder and get the beta key.
http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/main/ ... any-2-Beta
These are the venders they're working with if that helps.
I hope it includes instore preorders and physically copies. I preordered with gamestop instore. We'll see on the 26th when GS emails the codes.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Thanks!, it seems like the stores offering the beta are selling it for alot more than game, so I might wait for the release. Not that long to wait anyhow.
It's gonna be awesome!
