So this is a completely new project and you stopped working on Verena Skyline ?
It was worth it : this map has the feeling of depicting single pieces that fit together.
I'm already looking forward for the release of this map.

no, i'm still working on verena skyline alot, all i'm doing for it is models, so i'm making this map in my breaks, i use mapping to rid my boredness.

Razor, i've already reskinned the SBDs to be clyons, cheek out the glamor shots thread. their won't be any raiders or vipers, but some time in the future i might make a space map with a bassstar and battlestar galitica.
PS: in australia were only up to the fleet being rejoined in season two, so don't post anything past that.
PPS: there arn't any lasers in this map, every shots bullets ((and some guns shot explosive rounds, :p)) in the trailer theres a few scenes were you see yellow lines fly past people, there the bullets. :p

As far as the glamor shots, I haven't seen them. Do you have a link so I can check them out??
EDIT: I've found the glamour shots, and I gotta say the cylon looks pretty sweet!!
And I personally like the layout of the city as you've rendered it. I think a large map with wide open spaces is perfect - perfect for sniping, perfect for vehicle combat, and perfect for large scale combat. When a map is too congested with buildings, I find people spend more time trying to
get to the action rather than
being a part of the action.
I'm looking forward to this map (probably above all others I've seen as a WIP).

EDIT: done alittle bit of work today, added a river thats dried up in parts, and have started adding in bespin buildings for the rest of the city

K, thanks, I can see it now. But is a river that's dried up in parts possible ? In school I have learned that in a connected system of two vessel the water level will always be the same.

its possible, if we go with what your saying, that would mean the rivers bed is completly flat and horizontal. what if there were to be hills? rocks? fallen debrie? etc in the river, the water conenction through the whole river would be distruped, and in some places stopped, also the water level would have gone down, and so parts of the river bed that are higher are just cracked ground now

not sure, i complety redid it, new one is around 700-1500, not quite sure. theres no max limit on polys but I try to keep them lower then 4000.
PS: map is arounf 92% done
PPS: I spent two day modeling a Viper MK II, it looks really good, then i found better pictures of it, and mines incurrect >.< but oh well, you might see a landed one in the map, but I'm not going to make it usable in this map becouse the maps small

Well even if it's not accurate, you took 2 days to make it, so it must be good

Like what details are missing? I wouldn't care though, I just love BSG so darn much lol. I want to fight in Caprica City so darn bad! Teach those Cylons a lesson.
Another cool thing would be is a space battle. With Cylon Raiders and Vipers and... wow. I can just see it now. lol. But eh, I want this really bad too though. Never fought in SWBF 2 with bullets before (well, except Chaingun, but that doesn't count. lol)
What are the reinforcement count by the way, if you don't mind me asking? Sorry, a common question, but hey, you know. I'd just like to know. Love your maps Penguin. No pressure, and I hope to see more awesome work by you soon! =)

Off-topic: Is it possible if you have extra Penguin that you use some songs from the Battlestar Galatica soundtrack to make the gameplay feel more like you're not in Star Wars?
Also, I understand that the SBDs act like the Cylons but what about Magnaguards and Droidekas? Elite Cyclons???

We're just sticking with SBD's on the account that those are the really only type we've seen in the series.

True. However since the series is now in their fourth or fifth season, I'm guessing after 1 year (following timeline) the Cylons advanced in their creations by creating more lethal "robots". I'm not 100% sure at all.
There were also those Infrantry Cylon Starships (forgot their name). Since they have "heads", do you think using the Vulture Droids as an example would be good? They have "heads" as well.

just SBD for the clyons, normal clyon has a single shot wrist blaster ((= pistol)) and a wrist rifle((= rifle, lol))
Advanced clyon has health regen higher jump, and left wrist blaster and right wrist blaster
