Where can I download this mod? And I also saw something on a different website about a PSP conversion thing, is there a place to download that too?

No problem. SWBF2 on the PSP was a let down. Soon a better version will be released with all SWBF maps and more content. I'll release a version soon with all of the SWBF maps but I will keep adding onto the mod as time goes by. When I get ready to toss it up I'll PM you and few others from this tread for testing.

I took down links to current versions because I am not supporting them any more. I will release a much better version soon which will be supported.
Edit: I went ahead and restored the previous original post. How ever, the information on the first page doesn't reflect current mods and progress. I also really don't feel like supporting these current releases since I am focused on the mod's revision. You're free to report bugs with v4 but most likely, I've already fixed them.

Good to know but I've already stomped that issue. The official release will have both sp and mp map list selections.

1) Warehouse won't work on the PSP unless you rename the file name to lower case letters, when I first made that map I forgot to lowercase the map file name. Inside the _lvl_psp you should see a war folder, in there should be the world file.
2) Kashyyyk Islands works on v4 but only in one era, I forgot which one.
3) I am still stuck on space issues so they may not be updated in the official release, considering pulling them altogether and making some custom space maps.
4) New models are
almost not possible on PSP. They'll come out buggy (search this thread for the messed up Ventress screenshot and you will see) How ever, new skins work perfectly. New models can only work if they're really low poly. If anyone's interested in making some low poly models I'll gladly import them and use them for new sides / skin changers.
Edit: Here's some videos I made using PPSSPP emulator of the current unreleased mods. Quality is bad and there is lag since I use a caveman laptop to play.

Seems like you did a lot more work from the previous update, I just might try this out later on, these upgrades are always nice to see from someone really talented in the modding community!

1) I don't know how to make models, it requires some tools I just don't have the patience to learn. But I am pretty sure new models just have to be low detail / low poly. For now, my skin changers are just lists of textures that can be fit on regular character models and I am still planning to add more of those.
2) I don't care about multiplayer, it's always laggy and people only use demolition troops, but I do have PC versions for both SWBF1 and 2 with multiplayer setup, as I said, it's just not my thing. I usually only bother with multiplayer if I see 3 or 4 people playing in a BFX session. Everyone calls me a hacker for killing them with the OP mortar launchers and it's pretty funny...
3) I have a lot of mods too, my SWBF2 folder is probably 35GB.
4) Right now, the ISO is about 760MB, the CSO I don't know but I have to estimate 500MB. If space on the actual PSP is an issue for you I recommend getting one of
these. They're very very cheap compared to the Sony proprietary memory cards. Plus I already had a 64GB SD card so I used that instead of the 32GB one.

Thanks! I'm going to try this to convert some modded pc maps. Probably won't work, but if it does, then cool!
Edit: Oh I thought this was going to convert PC maps to BF2 but this is still cool. Thanks!
Edit2: I did what your install instructions said to do, however when I try to load it (in PPSSPP), it comes up with a black screen. Any idea why?

I can import PC mod maps into SWBF2 for PSP but I have to have access to the assets. The compiled mod would never run on the weak PSP engine. Warehouse and Crash Site are custom maps, made by RepSharpshooter and GAB.
My install instructions are clear as possible:
1) Backup the file global.lvl located in PSP_GAME\USRDIR\DATA\_LVL_PSP\SOUND
2) Delete the entire folder _LVL_PSP
3) Put my _LVL_PSP folder where the old one was
4) Put the file global.lvl where it goes back inside of PSP_GAME\USRDIR\DATA\_LVL_PSP\SOUND
5) Compile your game ISO or CSO using UMDGen and then you're good to go
In the much better release I will go ahead and include the global.lvl sound file to save people that hassle, the download will be much bigger though.

I just want to say I really love this mod and I appreciate the work that you've put into it. I have one question tho. Is the skin changer mod in version 4 or is it one of the unreleased mods?

In the v4 or less skins are automatically changed on certain maps as soon as they load. Not every map has some skin changers though, it's only stuff like jungle clones on nature maps and snow rebels in maps like Mygeeto and Hoth.
In the much better release, all skin/model changers will be available from the Fake Console menu. None will be loaded automatically when levels load.
EDIT: I am still tinkering with some of the PSP game's multiplayer bits and I finally got the game to display internet and lan options, but at the time both options result in the error message about no adapter found. For now, the new script I put in that displays both options seems to be looking for PS2 internet hardware instead of the PSP hardware. I still believe cross platform internet play is possible for PSP/PS2 but I still need to do tons of work. If this becomes possible it may not be soon, and not in the next mod release.
Also trying to setup an ingame hero selector.

This mod is incredible! You are really bending the game to your will. I remember how proud of myself I was when I released my mod back in 2007.
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8813 This is awesome, though. I wouldn't have ever played my mod again, but this mod really adds a lot of stuff.
I remember my topic getting locked or me getting banned or something stupid like that on Gametoast because snitches started ratting on me by saying it was illegal to modify the PSP files.

It is finally good to see you here Broadus! I played your mods when I first got a PSP. But I didn't play them long because I was already pretty deep with mod tools and pretty slick with hex editor. Your mods + my friend PyroJockey who taught me how to do hex editing are the main inspirations!
As far as I know it's okay to mod the game files and post them. It is not okay to post PSP hacking tutorials, where to get ISOs or how to get emulators. We keep those aspects away from this forum and so far so good. It's up to each person to figure out how to get access to those things.
I've now got a few new weapons working and soon will be more. I did this by simply setting them up in their own side lvl file, each as the "class" type. I call them in from the map Lua and assign them to characters using SetClassProperty. So far I've given the Tuskens their actual gun and the Gamorreans the long axe. Both of those weapons so far are from the CodaRez weapon packs.
EDIT: Haha, Broadus I just read your ancient topic about increase the AI bots on PSP above 10 per side. You'll be glad to know I have something already implemented for that. I am considering adding a dedicated XL mode as found in the PC version. I still need to test how many bots the PSP game can handle.

Back then we got pressure from some developers to be VERY careful not to show people how to modify their PSP or ISO files in any way. Now the game is old enough that the industry doesn't care.

Unlikely, I used the same method used for creating the PSP maps and this was the result:

Script mods do work however.

There may be a point where I get done with PSP mods but it will not be soon. When I do I will begin converting everything I have over to PS2.

Both of those things do work on the PSP game version. Double tapping left trigger does jetpack and I think one of the D-pad buttons does Droideka shield. This is on the default control setup.
