Please guide me with my model

Well, I've solved my texturing woes, so here goes nothing. I believe I can now get my models into ZE without issue.

As I've said before, I'm a bit inexperienced at modelling and completely new to SWBF2 mapping. Here I have 3 different cave models, 2 slightly different straight sections and one double-length section that also serves as a ramp.

Please, tell me anything I might change or look out for because I am pretty much clueless here. Once I put them in ZeroEditor I really have not got much of an idea what I'm going to do from there.

Of course these aren't my only models, but you have to start somewhere and it would be a chore to post them all up at once.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

...so, mission accomplished? What exactly are you asking? If you got your models to work then jolly good, get yourself mapping.

Didn't they have terrain cutters?

Who had what now?

And I'm asking because, for example, a lot of custom maps have places that are ledges which you cannot walk on, but have to jump. I'm just making sure I don't miss anything is all.

The only way to test for something like that is to try it out ingame.

I went to play it, and many things seem to have gone wrong.

At the instant action screen, "KBN s% s%" show up instead of the level name.

On the loading screen, [NULL] appears where both the tip and "Loading..." should be, and there is no level name.

When I choose a side, the background is completely black

Everything is either [NULL], a hex adress, or a class name. Not a single thing is named properly.

The custom terrain texture shows up and my changes to terrain height shows up, but my models are nowhere to be found.

Solutions? This is after munging, adding my custom asset files, making a quick level with models and slight terrain deformations, then munging for in game. Not a single thing else.

Did you localize?

I did not. Must I? That's just simply checking the localize box in the munger, right?

There's more to it, I can't remember what exactly, but you have to name your units using a localize tool.

Not by default, you don't have to do anything to get your map localized correctly. It sounds like you either deleted something or you have a munge problem. Regardless, this is no longer about models, please open up a topic in the modding forum related to this specific munge problem.
