new cat version,
Tris: 2802

Tried a new (maybe more comic-like at some parts)texturing style. the boots are bad uved and textured, but with the other parts im satisfied with.

Nice work!

The texturing looks fine, I don't know if you're concerned that it looks "comic-like," but if you are, it is an unfounded concern. The less-defined brushstrokes you used on your texture really helped you nail some of the shading (which is the part I like best). If you use that "comic-like" texture as a base and then just add some hard (defined) lines you can make it look as "real" as you like.

If I had issue I would take it with the legs, which look less defined than the rest of the model (probably due to the smaller UV space in comparison with the physical size of the legs on the model). The model looks great, maybe next time you will upgrade to doing non-Pandemic hands or a humanoid head?

thanx for the comments so far
@comic like: especially on the belly armor you can see the... maybe painty look of the texture, because you can see the brush edges or whatever. i used this technique on every part, but you cant see it that good anymore. i only used 2 brushes for the whole texture(one oval(vertically) and a brush brush)

@legs: i wasnt that concentrated and texturing this kind of material wasnt that fun, metal is funnier
@pandemic hands: theyre easily a lot faster than new.
@humanoid:...i dont like uving humanoid faces...needs too long.
thanks for the constructive criticism ;)

Oh, I know they are a lot more work, etc. I wouldn't expect anyone to use anything other than Pandemic's hands (even they only modeled them once or twice). I just suggested both of them because it sounds like you're working on your skillset, and you might as well work on a humanoid face to get practice wrapping around a less-flat surface.

Its beautiful! Love the texture! It may need some more work on the legs and feet, but besides that its a really good model!

Like 'em both, I'd use the first for a rifle more than a sniper.... Although it's not exactly a convenient scope placement, it it? :P
