I don't know if that's a new feature, but if it is, Crosswalk in XSI can import COLLADA.

The importer/exporter itself is new, while importing/exporting .dae files is not, considering that a .kmz is a .dae file zipped up.

Interior model made in Google Sketchup 7.1. I split models where they can be, so the interior is made of parts. I converted it to .dae and opened it in Autodesk Softimage Mod Tool 7.5 (32-Bit).
It is an entrance to the Pentranaki Arena. The map will be part of a mod called Galactic Warfront, which simply adds a few new maps with a campaign mode, and 1 or two other non-campaign modes all for multiplayer. I understand doing this mod will take a lot of work, but I am enjoying the modelling. I am using stock textures, recolored stock textures, and new textures throughout, and am attempting to make sure my models live up to the quality of the stock models. I also wish to include new animations that look more natural than even the stock ones, but that is not being worked on yet (I need help, more people).
The map is called Geonosis: Pentranaki Arena. Not sure what the "campaign" name will be... just wait and see.
This model is of average quality compared to other models I will be using, but feel free to critique it.

That looks awesome, man.
But it's going to be REALLY high-poly, just to let you know.

No, I don't agree with your statement. If you look closely, you can see that a lot of poly's have been spared, adding to this that the model is divided into parts, I think you're going to be fine, Eaol.

Ah, but it only LOOKS low-poly. When you select it, you'll see all the extra polies that the model is loaded with. This happens to EVERY SketchUp model when exported to .dae.

If you then go to Modify>Poly.Mesh>Filter Polygons, you can remove any unnecessary polys. I'm assuming it's those that sketchup models are loaded with.

Does anyone else get this annoying probelm whilst using SketchUp? It happens to me all the time and I've only had it
not do it once. Hopefully someone can help so I can continue working on this project.

Problem with faces, you have.
Draw random lines along the face until fixed, you must.

I've never had that problem. Maybe once in Sketchup 6, but that was a loooooong time ago.

Try fiddling around with the options, for instance turn off textures, or shadows. Worked on my schools computers

Lazer Collection 3, and if you haven't seen these before, its best to start at the beginning.
Oh right, disclaimer, Lazer Collection 3 is a tad more vulgar than its predecessors.
