Soluto - Anti-Frustration Software
With this 100% free, no-registration required software, you can quickly cut boot times and inspect and fix crashes with your applications. I cut my complete boot time from taking 7 minutes and 30 seconds to 4 minutes and 1 second! This program is going to be making some serious changes with Windows frustrations in the near future.

I don't exactly feel safe downloading a program whose only description is "Computer will boot faster after this is installed."
What does it do, exactly, to make this happen?

You, the user, choose to either pause or disable the startup of installed programs and services.Twilight_Warrior wrote:What does it do, exactly, to make this happen?

I suppose it's good for those who don't really know much about Windows, but the more experienced user can do that without downloading a program via msconfig

Re: Soluto - Anti-Frustration Software
The "Startup" section in msconfig is basic, not advanced. Soluto tells you the exact time it takes for each specified program and service to start up; not only that, but it also categorizes the programs and services into three groups: no-brainers, potentially removable (for advanced users), and cannot be removed (yet [Soluto is still in its beta stage and its massive genome isn't fully developed yet]).Dohnutt wrote:I suppose it's good for those who don't really know much about Windows, but the more experienced user can do that without downloading a program via msconfig

Re: Soluto - Anti-Frustration Software
Hmm, I already have 4 different programs that do this, Spybot S&D has this function, Norton 360 has this function, Windows itself has this function and CCleaner has this function.
However yeah, turning off some startup things is useful. Especially all that "quickstarter" and "autoupdate" crap that comes with a lot of software nowadays...
