I was wondering if it's possible to change a units skeleton when it uses the Disguise kit. my geonosian looks really weird when hes a clone because he stands rong and is abit "short". Also he keeps his wings

May I ask where you got the disguise kit? I can't find it anywhere. Could you please give me a link to download it?

It's in the BF1 mod tools I think. :)

Can't do anything that complex I'm afraid. All it does is change the model of the character. In SWBF1 it actually confused the enemy into thinking you were on their team (your team still knew you were on theirs). In SWBF2 that part of the code was removed or got broke, cuz it just changes the model.

Could it change the unit into, say, a rock, or something like that? A health droid maybe? Something other than the opposing team's units.

And why is it that so much was broken or removed from BF2? It almost seems like there was more in SWBF1 than the second game.

You can change the geometry that the kit uses for the disguise- but because of the skeleton bugs my occur so keep it to character models. They removed the disguise coding because of the invisibilty code put in- why have disguise when you're invisible after all, plus disguise never made it to the final SWBF1 version.

SWBF2 did get more animations and better melee options plus space, more game modes and sprint/boost though. Only stuff removed was grapplegun, disguise and prone. SWBF1 has the better hud and aiming reticules though.

Ah, I see. Well, I never played SWBF1, so I didn't know about the space thing.

A lot of the stuff that quit working in SWBF2 was never actually used in SWBF1. The disguise is one of those.

When I've used it it worked, enemy didnt shoot at me and did neither my team. The only problem with it I saw was the fact that AI never use it.

Could you have more than one different type of Disguise Kit? I'd make a spy unit have three, One would turn you into a Stormtrooper, one into an Imperial Pilot and one into an Snowtrooper. This spy would have a rifle called the silencer rifle, which would be a one hit kill to everything.

Since Tean said it doesn't work really, thats only offline.
If your playing online with people they will use it.

And who wants to play with comps all the time?

Can I give it any model, or just a particular one? Like, could I make a sniper turn into a droideka model? Or is that too difficult to work?

And something I've found, the invisibility doesn't work as great as it should. I mean, for being invisible, the ai sure do find where you are pretty fast.

Anything which'll work with the same skeleton as the one the trooper that uses it is. So no droidekas I'm afraid, they got unique skeletons.

And I'm glad the ai find you soon enough :D What fun is it just shooting people without them shooting back? Gets boring quickly enough.

The_Emperor (whom does not share your optimism :) ) is right about the same skeleton for best results. The geometry has to be a character model though becuase those are rigged and weight onto a skeleton. Other models are not. The Geo Warrior looks funny as a clone btw.

The droideka has no skeleton which is why it won't work. THe droideka falls under the walker vehicle class and is in essence a spawnable playable walk vehicle. This is what we mean when we say the Droideka is half Vehicle half Unit.

Yeah, he's right about the half/half Droideka, but FYI all units have skeletons.

So in theory by basing it off the droideka, you could make a spawnable AT-ST?

Not even in theory.
