Halo 3 can support 4 player campaign offline, so why can't ODST?

Um... No it can't. Maybe with system link, but splitscreen=2 player only. If you could do 4-player co-op splitscreen, then Vidmaster Annual and Vidmaster Deja Vu probably wouldn't specifically say that it needs to be a 4-player LIVE game. There was 4-player splitscreen in Halo 2 and maybe 1, but I assume that since 4-player splitscreen generally makes each player's screen extremely small, it was probably removed because it ramped up the difficulty, along with the fact that H2 was dark as heck and had a 12-second piece-o-crap flashlight, and splitscreen always seems to make things darker.

^ Adding onto that, you cannot use guest accounts when doing those achievements. You need to have 4 people over LIVE period.

Actually, you're adding onto what
I said. If you go th Campaign, and than play local, and you can play four players local. Trust me, I've done it, but you can't get certain acheivements with guests, as Fusion said.

You made no mention of Vidmaster Annual or Deja Vu, that's what I was talking about and what Fluffy mentioned, thus, why I said I added it on to what he said.

Hum. After watching the X-play ODST special, it actually appears to me that you can do 4-player local co-op.

By offline I meant "splitscreen". I know you can play 4 player co-op by using a System Link/LAN setup, but you can't play 4 player splitscreen co-op.

By "local", do you mean splitscreen? Or do you mean a System Link/LAN setup?

I may be wrong, but I think they said splitscreen. And I'm pretty sure that it was only in firefight you could do that.

Just a reminder, tomorrow is the last day you can preorder the game, and if you want Johnson after that you may never get him (unless of course, they decide to be nice and have him downloadable for 500 MS points later on).
Oh, and if for some reason you're 17 and your Gamestop/Whatever doesn't believe you, look on ask.com for how to get a State ID, counts as a license for those who can't drive yet.

I'm stoked. I'm picking it up tomorrow after work. I probably won't get to do much with it until the weekend, but just to have all that ODST goodness sitting by my 360 gives me something to look forward to.

Just picked up the Limited Edition copy for 120$ (Got the second last copy). I can't play it until my xbox gets back from repair which will probably be another week, but hey... at least I can stare at the case right? T-T

It does look good. Just wish I had a 360.

Actually got to play for about an hour tonight. Baby and wife needed me off and on, but for the most part I got some good solo gameplay in. I like it so far, just finished Dutch's mission. It's a lot tougher for a run-n'-gun guy like me. You have to actually think about what you're doing.

I did my first playthrough "this morning" (if you can call 12am to 5am the morning

) on Heroic.
Unless you are really good at Halo 3's campaign, I suggest to not play it like that first. I had no problems due to weeks of practice.
Heroic was very fun, and I found myself constantly running and gunning. And by that I mean, just running. I ran halfway across Mombasa trying to escape a Lesser/Gold Hunter that was shooting me in the back with it's Fuel Rod Gun.

I know what you mean. The first Hunter encounter I thought "How am I gonna kill these guys? I don't have any shields!"

yeah, i was a tad worried when i was trapped in a warehouse after using two fire bombs, a spike 'nade, and a frag nade on normal without a Hunter keeling over.
turns out the shotgun might be your best friend against them. Just knock the shield off their back

I went to my friend's the other day and we played for about 3 hours... lots of fun, though I'm still not really into the Halo style of gameplay.
Too much running and gunning IMO. But, it's a good series and, if you like that type of style, then it's sweet.
It's fun with friends, but I'm more for the realism and tactical stuff.
Anyways, we had fun playing Firefight..
Not even sure if this is a spoiler, but..

my friend and i played and beat this in about 6 hours yesterday. interesting story, cool to see a spin-off of my favorite type of soldier in the game (not really a big fan of Halo).
