Question about Shiny textures

Pretty much a basic question, I have the tutorial to work with alpha channels, but what I exactly want to know is what do I need to make shiny armors, mostly for a possible Rainy environment or Super Battle Droid kind of metallic shine.
Thanks, BTW I looked over tutorials first but sometimes the most basic stuff is not there, at least not properly archived.

I believe all you have to do (with GIMP anyway) is load your skin tga and go to tools, colortools, then click level. Where it says channel select alpha, and increase the alpha to make it more shiny ingame.

Thanks, so no HEX editing needed then? I began to think it would be another HEX nightmare like when I decided to rename all my model textures internally and the MSH externally to make them "ConvoPack Fiendly"
Thanks.

to add a metallic shine, download repsharpshooters meshtool
load the units mesh and type "envmap" then your unit is environmentalmapped (that metallic effect the sithwardroid in the convopack uses)
make shure to have the cubemap-textur in your msh-folder otherwise your unit will just glow (further information in the releasethread)

Thanks, I'll check it out, I thought for a second I would need to re-convert models, good to know it wasn't necessary after all.
