Helpless Jedi

I want to create a side of jedi that have been deprived of their lightsaber and attack animations, thus rendering them useless. This will make them seem like normal "humans" which I need for my map. However, I first wish to know if it can be done, and if so, how?

Yes, simply remove their weapons lines in the ODF.

Except I dont think that would work. I know of know "weaponless" animations, as most pertaining anims are based off the weapon itself.

use an invisible wepon, like active camo, but remove the lines that allow you to go invisible.

Yeah, I also need something like this for my map. I just need a few "civillian-type people", and since my map has nothing to do with Star Wars (), none of my heroes/villians can have weapons...

But this is your topic, so I won't hijack it.

Im not sure where your coming from with the invisibility thing - i see nothing in the odf to imply you have any control over it as far as weapons/players.
You could get someone to make a simple model, like something really small so you couldn't even see it. Then just make it fire nothing, and you'd be set.
Or you could have someone model a mini-lighter, that shoots really tiny flames that only hurt if your really close.
But what do i know..

I may have misphrased that, I meant use a waepon that has no geometry, and then make it so that the wepon does nothing.

weapons have to have a geometry/msh

I like the idea! Thank you people! Oh...but...erm...could somebody direct me to a team-making tutorial? I checked in the documentation, but it only tells me how to make jedi...and I've already read the local teams tutorial, but for me, that only works on jawas...

galacticmarine, I think you should ask the local member archer01 about this...

Simply fill in a msh that doesnt exist in the weapon's odf, and 't will be invisible.

you need a msh, and the msh has to have geometry in it, i have tried this before
((for caprica, make SBDs have a muzzle flash))

I misspelled a geometry name once in an odf for a lightsaber, and he just had empty hands. No errors, no crashes. Same goes with guns (I misspelled a guns name too

)

Schizo pulled this off on an Imperial Officer guy.
He's the extent of my conversation regarding 'invisible weapons' with him..
[18:52] ﻛcђίzǿ: of course, that Imperial Officer in those propaganda poster screens doesn't have a weapon... but i used a little trick... heh heh
[18:53] ﻛcђίzǿ: it's actually quite ingenious really
[18:53] ﻛcђίzǿ: if i do say so myself
[18:53] [GT]Epena: lol
[18:53] [GT]Epena: what did you do?
[18:54] ﻛcђίzǿ: i took the Imperial Officer, gave him Count Dooku's animations so he stood up straight and tall and dignified-looking
[18:54] ﻛcђίzǿ: then i just removed the MSH file for the lightsaber from the MSH folder
[18:54] ﻛcђίzǿ: making it invisible
[18:55] ﻛcђίzǿ: so it looks like he's got no weapons, but it's actually just the officer with Dooku animations and an invisible saber
[18:55] ﻛcђίzǿ: pretty good for screenshots
[18:55] [GT]Epena: ..lol...nice
[18:55] ﻛcђίzǿ: yeah, i don't know why, i just felt like having an Imperial Officer in there with the posters
[18:55] [GT]Epena: the posters are pretty sweet
[18:55] ﻛcђίzǿ: but i thought it'd be corny if he was holding like, a rifle or something
[18:55] ﻛcђίzǿ: so i did that
[18:56] [GT]Epena: lol, yeah
So, yeah, it appears that no msh...works.

So then... does that mean that he stands straight up with his hands at his side? Or does he walk around looking like he's holding an invisible lightsaber?

Probably like hes holding an invisible lightsaber, seeing as he is holding an invisible lightsaber, and there is no reason for him to be on a random set of "walking" anims. But, hey, its better than nothing..

wait....if I use the invisibility idea, will his lightsaber go away? Or should I also delete the lightsaber msh? Oh yeah, and does anybody know where I can find that sides making tut?

Unless that is count dooku's default stance?

I'm pretty sure it is.
Which makes sense, the the game thinks that its holding something, we just cant see it.
