Its really not worth it. The model comes out really, and i mean REALLY screwed up. Plus, by editing pre made models you dont gain anything =/

Re: How to change soldier msh's?
Launch ZeroEditor, load a map and go into "Object" edit mode, then browse to a soldier's "odf" or ".msh" file and place it on the map, then click on "Multiselect" and click on the mesh that you just placed, then click on the "Save as object" button (at the bottom), then name it and save it to the location of your liking.Raxe wrote:Hi, i want to know how i can get the model of an soldier into XSI!
It will save as a ".obj" file which can be imported into XSI.
But beware, you will have to "doctor it up" quite a bit as it merges all objects within the msh and you'll also lose the UV and material data.

Yes you can import a Unit (human) modeling into XSI – and yes, if done correctly it will come out/Export into game fine, I have tested it, other wise I would not say.
Or you can just create your own human model, start with simple human shapes, like the head - fingers etc, can be square, then as you get better and have more experience u can accomplish any thing.

@AceMastermind
If you do use the .obj method you don't get any heirarchy and you will have the painful experience of deleting the shadowmeshes polygons.... Eeek!

Re: How to edit a soldier msh
I like creating my own models, but having experimented with the ".obj" and "BConstructor->Milkshape->XSI" method and you can get a soldier ".msh" into XSI either way. If you have limited resources like many beginners, the ".obj" method is more convenient but definitly not the most efficient way in terms of quality.Vyse wrote:If you do use the .obj method you don't get any heirarchy and you will have the painful experience of deleting the shadowmeshes polygons....
