There is debate if we can even fit one in the maps, but I love the SSD so I'll be the fall guy if it ends up killing comps ^_^
Started on it about 30 min ago.

you should change your monitor resolution to its highest level or turn XSI's resolution level down cause theres tons of tools that arent even showing cause your screen resolution is so low.

Wow, thats gonna be crazy if you ever get it finished. Isnt it 12 times the size of a normal SD?

Looks nice! Can't wait to see how you texture it lol!

Are you going to cut it up into chunks like PAN did for there capital ships?
Minilogo it might not be from a low resolution. The Mod Tools do not have the same side menus setup like Foundation does!
From mod tools to foundation I never changed my resolution and more tools were in my side bar of foundation.

A smallish update, got the middle deck basically laid out, right now it's all smooth and not very detailed... pondering getting this version ingame to test preformance before finalizing the model.
The rest of the hull blisters will increase the poly count by a lot
And the bottom has yet to be cut out for the engine spaces and foreward superstructure.
And the bridge will need further refining of course.

Ha ha. Great work man. This actually might be a very useful asset to that Fondor: Shipyards map I was planning... maybe I can now recreate that Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike level... that would definitely be very cool...
Keep up the good work, man.

I THINK iv sceled it to around 15k in length. It is HUGE in game. Completely dwarfs the SD.
Good luck on keepin the lag down
Cant be bothered puttin up the pics so you'l have to download em.

Notice how the nose of the SD fades out in the distance ...well it goes WAY beyond the SD lol.
Im owed a big thanks you for the patience I showed when flying from one end of the SSD to the other...
This is no joke - I flew from the back to the front but halfway down I left it goin while I went and made a sandwich and went to the toilet! when I got back I had just reached the tip of the nose lol

They are way too big for space maps, and I found out a touch too big for ground maps:
I wanted a low resolution version for my Muunilinst map, just to fill the sky. Unfortunately, the fog comes in too early.

Many thanks Bandu, at least we know the game engine can handle the SSD.
Since it can I'll finish the model and toss some quick textures on it and then try it in a beta stage... see if it's still good... then if that works I'll make good textures and finalize the model, then cut it into severtal pieces, like 6 - 7.

BTW 00M , When exporting your SSD I noticed a few places where you have wasted polygons.
I'll talk to you about it on msn later .

OOM-9, I don't know if this is a lot to ask for or not but after you finish it, could you make a chopped up version of say about 6 parts that could be used as debris? (That is if it's not too much trouble.)
