Helping a Friend

A friend of mine has tried unsuccessfully to properly munge and open ZeroEditor (in otherwords, he can't mod) on his computer. He has no Internet connection at this time.
His related computer stats, to my knowledge, are:

Windows Vista x64
Has Battlefront 2 (DVD version)
Never been connected to the Internet (so important Windows updates were never installed on his computer)
(Also, I gave him the modtools via USB)

Any information would be helpful to get the ModTools working on his computer, he's very encouraged to mod Battlefront 2 after seeing me do it.
EDIT: Whoops, is this the wrong section? If so, please move it to where it should be.

There should be a topic somewhere on problems with Vista and ZeroEditor somewhere...
Also ,exactly what happens? i.e. errors, randomly flashing closed, freezing, ect.? (not that i'm gonna have any idea what it will mean, but someone else might.)

EDIT: AHA! I belive this to be it.

Ok, thanks, but just to clarify, he cannot even run ZeroEditor, it crashes about 3 seconds after it's clicked on. No combination of compatibility/admin settings works. (So he can't create worlds)
