Yeah, I guess you could do that. I'm not going to fix that hole.
Thanks to Teancum, there is some new boot code. The old method to boot no-namers had some faults, but new the booting code is better in every way. I haven't had any problems in testing it so far.
I've added the crashing text. When you pick a command that causes others to crash-to-desktop, the server name changes. "Crashes: " is appended to the name. This text is not automatically removed when a new map loads, so there is another command to remove it.
I've discovered two more crash-to-desktop commands: 'Activate Bonus - Supplies' (2 being 1 activate command for each team). I'll update the ActivateBonus topic with the info.

Edit: I've just got an email saying one of my professors is getting replaced and a long list of essay questions for new homework. I was hoping to release a beta tomorrow night, but I'm not sure if I can still keep that deadline

Looks really good! Just excellent! Don't worry about how long it takes to get everything done with it, It's quality when released is very important.

From now on, I'm calling this the FC Mod as I hate typing out 'FreeCam and FakeConsole' ingame when people ask about it. I updated the first post with info on the latest version. Enjoy.

When running a server and doing any commands, I normally get a lot of questions about whats wrong with the server, how am I hacking the map, does it only work for this map, how did you make this, how can I make this, what are the modtools, where are the modtools,

, etc...
Those commands were supposed to provide quick answers to those questions. Sadly, the text messages don't show up across the server. When initially testing using ShowMessageText(""), both the host and client saw '[Null]' so I assumed the host was sending the text accross the network. When adding in localized strings like ShowMessageTest(mods.fakeconsole.test), the host sees 'Test', but the client still sees '[Null]' even with the mod installed. I didn't notice that until after I added those commands. They do provide some info, so I haven't removed them. They are near the bottom of the Fake Console list.
Edit: I found a promo video online. It was taken a day or two ago in my server by RageMaster7. If anyone else wants to make videos, feel free. I don't have time to do it. I will update the first post with links to any videos I find or am told about.

Would it be possible to make a command to disable/Re-Enable the death boundary that shows the text "Leaving Battlefield" and kills you after a period of time? Would be a neat feature to be able to use for many maps.

I love cheating, so this is a BIG help in, well, cheating.
Oh, and if you just want to see what's "Past the boundary" just go on the BF@ Mod Tools version of the game and turn on inf health or go on an XBox or PS2. There isn't really anything out there...

So for the 15 posts I had to update, I missed one topic... The links in the first post are now updated (will have to update them all again sometime later this month

I finally got an internet connection today (Verizon DSL 3.0/786 at $37 month), so I can consider my move complete. I'll get back to modding in a few days.
Edit:
The UnOfficial v1.3 patch now fully includes the FC mod. There will no longer be any separate FC mod release. The next version of the FC mod is integrated into the v1.3 patch. You can track the v1.3 patch's development and releases here:

The new FakeConsole in the v1.3 patch has a few (and will contain many more when finished) advantages over the FC Mod vJan-29-2008. Thanks for your support and the over 13,000 views. Its been 21 months since the first FakeConsole release (of course, I haven't been fully working on it that whole time).
(Oh, and Verizon screwed me on DSL. They billed me over $50 for the 'free' modem and they are claiming I signed up for a year long contract when I wanted month-to-month. Any ideas on how to get out of the early termination fee (already called them a few times and was hung up on) when I move again in a few months?)
