Any one else having this problem?

Post by Big_rich »

Problem is when I try to host my mod map dedicated. The game crashes, the server stays up but the game crashes to desktop. I can't seem to figure it out. I noticed some of the mod map I've added to the dedicated do this also. Is it just me? Can't be. Idk, I can host a non-dedicated and everything runs fine.

the decicated server is for ppl who want to host a farely lag free server.

basicly, you get a computer, start a server with decicated mode on, once its started you go use another computer for stuff

BTW, i doesn't crash, it just closes down SWBF II so it can run the server nicely

Do you have a mapinfo.txt file for your map?
Teancum has provided the lines to make one here: http://www.gametoast.com/index.php?name ... c&start=60
Just change the appropriate names for your map. Both the server and client should have this file in the root of your level's directory in your addon folder.

Thanks for trying to help. But my problem isn't with the implementation of a dedicated server. As a clan we have a remote server in a dedicated network data center. I'm a server admin for it. I know how to add a mod map to the DS manager . The problem is that the GAME crashes when it is hosted on that dedicated server. The Clients games, not the server side game. It also does the same thing when I host a dedicated on my personal PC. I thought it might be our server fault. No clue why it only does this on a dedicated, a non-ded server runs fine. But laggy.

Again, it's the client side of the game that crashes.
