Thank you. You are right, but my arguement remains, This is possible even with felucia. However, I will be adding fog.
No problem. And I was agreeing with you, pretty much. As I said, essentially, I personally like what you're trying to achieve with Felucia.

So, yeah, your argument does remain. Wasn't challenging you, man.

Unless I am mistaken regarding your post?
Was just trying to help put an argument to rest. Because in the end, your decision is what will rule.
I'll like the mod regardless.

Speaking of The Clone Wars, once my parents hit the sack, I need to go downstairs and watch the latest episode.

Slight misunderstanding, my bad. I know you were not challenging me really. I meant that I think its possible in a nonfiction sense.
Anyway, update on Night Felucia

What do you guys think about bioluminescent plants and insects?

I still think the nebulae need to go... They don't make sense in a planetary night time sky, and nebulae would be too hot and ionized for such teeming life to be THAT close. The gases and energies from such a close entity would make Felucia more like Venus or (more likely) Mercury. Other that that, the fog does add a great touch to the whole Felucia nighttime feel.
As for bioluminescence:

sounds like an awesome idea.

While I thank you for the rest, I have a counter-argument.
While what you said is partially true, you forget about size perception. What if is a big Nebulae that is far away?
I partially am arguing this because I think it looks cool.

Like RSL said, it's your mod, do what you think looks best, we all support that. But if you're going for accuracy in the sky:

R-6
I can't give you a copy of the page from the Star Wars Atlas, as that would technically be stealing intellectual property, but if you have your own copy, you can compare it to the full color map with all the celestial bodies and stuff.

Thank you, But I dont see how that proves your point. I dont have the atlas right now, I had a copy from the library 2 months ago.

That looks excellent
The nebulae looks further away now, and bioluminescent plants and insects would be great.

This is directed at those that are complaining about the "realism" of the night sky.
Do you even realize what game you are talking about? This is Star Wars, who cares if it's realistic or not? You can fly at faster than light speeds, lasers exist as balls of energy thrown through the air, and jetpacks are the size of a common rucksack. The fact that there are visible nebulae in the night sky should mean absolutely nothing, yet you guys make such a big deal about it.
I personally thought the nebulae looked great, and they should have been kept. Things are meant to be exaggerated in videogame graphics to make it visually interesting. I personally think the sky is no longer interesting to look at. Who cares about a flat black color with stars thrown about it? I sure don't. Have you ever looked at the absolutely magnificent skyboxes of the Halo games? They are the best skyboxes in the business, and yep, they are absolutely full of nebulae and exaggeration.
I say go with whatever looks the best, and currently, I think the visible nebulae look best.

Not that it matters, because any planet could have several different looks, but here are shots from the CW cartoon showing Felucia at night. It's relatively cloudless - there are no nebulae visible. Creative license is just that, though. No real sense in getting worked up over minor details.

Apparently, the author of the mod does:
THEWULFMAN wrote:I am a huge geography, astromnomy, and earth science geek. There is absoulutley no reason that Felucia couldnt have a clear night. Just because We have never seen it like that doesnt mean it couldnt happen.
But you're right; it's not a big deal. It was only a minor friendly suggestion.

Mav to the rescue I guess
Those are awesome reference pics, especially the floura glowing. I guess I will remove the nebulae, the people that play this will have the same complaints, so I might as well get it out.
I may add those clouds though.

Pretty much what I meant when I came in. But AQT did point out the author did want to have a somewhat 'realistic' Felucia sky. Personally, I don't think this should've became an argument in the first place, because a) Whatever Wulf says he wants in it goes. b) it was merely a harmless suggestion by someone that somehow became an argument about space science.
Also, seeing how Mav just posted a picture of Felucia at night where it shows no nebulae and Wulf saying he's gonna take it out because of those nice references, I trust this debate is concluded?
Here's to hoping Wulf keeps working as much as he can on it, while doing his best, and getting out a brilliant first version, which I will totally download as soon as it's available.

Holy Qui-gon's ghost! Those shots of Felucia at night are awesome. How have I not seen that episode? Or have I? I think there must've been a couple episodes I missed here and there.
