Nal Hutta: Slum
Here's a map that's been an off-and-on project of mine since the spring. It was mostly inspired by the Nal Hutta stills from The Old Republic.
Wookieepedia wrote:Nal Hutta (Glorious Jewel in Huttese) was the capital of Hutt Space and was located in the Y'Toub system. It was formerly known as Evocar and was the original home world of the Evocii, who were ousted by the Hutts in 15,000 BBY, who migrated from their original home world of Varl along with their servants the t'landa Til. It was sometimes referred to simply as Hutta between 4000 to 3,000 BBY. The planet was controlled by the ancient ruling Hutt families, who also ruled its moon Nar Shaddaa from Nal Hutta.

Map Size: Medium
CP Count: 8
Vehicles: None
Eras: GCW & DTII
Modes: Conquest
Credits:
Maveritchell - Dark Times 2
Sky_216 - Various Junk Props
YouJediJunkie - Barrels
Tean/Pandemic - Raxus Assets
I'm going to make a few more touches and then I'll try to send some betas out sometime within the next several days. No volunteer testers needed at the moment, thank you.

At one point there were, but they just didn't work with the map so I cut them.

Looks like a very nasty and dirty place.

Nice work, Era. It'll make a great companion map to Mav's Nar Shaddaa. I see Gamorrean locals(?) running around but do you plan on having Hutts sitting around?

Wow. This maps looks really good Era! I like the environment and the lighting, and the building props you made look really really good. Is this map just about finished? It doesn't look like it needs much more work....

The barrel's texture seems to disagree with me, is that intentional, or are you going to reskin it later?

I was meaning to comment on that too, but forgot about it. I think they look really out of place as well.

Well since the Hutts are gangsters, aren't gangsters usually associated with spray-painted graffti?

That isn't really graffiti. Its more like random colours on a barrel. Graffiti is a form of art.

but can you tell the diference between random colors on a barel and (abstract) art?
anyway, the pics look great, only the trees strike me as a bit odd since everything else looks dirty, worn and kinda inustrial

No....
Gangs of teens maybe,
gangsters ie organised crime families/lords not so much.

Your environment looks
very nice. The props all work together really well (the barrels do look kind of strange though). If the gameplay is half as good as that of Imdaar (that includes the original Imdaar you let me test way before the Dark Times version) then I'm sure this will be a fantastic map.

The map does look good; I watched District 9 again yesterday and thought how we didn't have enough slum-themed maps.

Very nice, Era! You have a way of creating atmosphere in your maps that so far nobody can match.
*wants to play now*

If there is a local Hutt crimelord can you blow him up?
