Just to break up the formulaic

posts a bit, here's an oldy. If you're familiar with Boarding Action, you've seen it before, but I never did show it off here.
Imperial Officer (black uniform)
This is, of course, a reskin of Pandemic's unused Imperial officer msh, for anyone that's been blinded by clones lately.

It's basically a blanket recolor using some function I've long since forgotten about, some air(or clone)brushing to remove a few key details, plus a few copy/paste operations for the belt, rank plaque, code cylinder(s), face, gloves, and boots. I have a revised version, but it's only a code cylinder correction, thus not really worth showing. I'd always wanted an officer that would more realistically be on the front lines with his troops, because the original skins for both meshes was a rank that amounted more-or-less to Major General (I consider Veers an exception), or Rear Admiral, plus I wasn't too fond of the original color when considering its use in my map.
Now, for something a little different that probably hasn't been done in a while, if ever.
Venator (Imperial, à la RotS)
I'd originally made this for Centax-2, which sits on the backburner, and you can guess the other map it's in. I know what it looks like, but I didn't blanket desaturate anything except the brim trench texture. A lot of the color changes were done with an airbrush, clone brush, or bucket fill (selected by color) in order to remove the red markings along with the Open Circle Fleet/Armada symbol. The lighter grey, if I remember correctly, comes from an accidental removal of the alpha channel from one or more textures, which I'd attempted (and failed) to fix later. Also, I'm not so sure the second pic really counts, but it's a close shot of the Venator with the ISD's detail texture instead of the MonCal one it was shipped with. I guess it's more akin to an addon, really.
I'm not the greatest at skinning, but I do have a few tricks up my sleeve that make it look like I actually know what I'm doing. Maybe I should stop being a noob, and learn how to do something more complicated. *snicker*
Are you sure you're not dead?
