As a church-going Roman Catholic, I am offended by the blanket assumptions and stereotypes. I like to think of myself as open minded and rational. I don't force my beliefs onto others.

There was no intended insult.
We stated a fact (about the Roman Catholic Church hundreds of years ago), and my supported opinion that scientists now have an extreme devotion to their ideas and will not allow anyone to say that they are wrong no matter the evidence.
I still apologize.
