Threatening to leave will not affect the ultimate decisions of Guru or the staff. Not saying that they don't care about you, but one or two members wanting one thing will not sway the results of the Staff's decision. Get half the forum on your side, and well, things just get messy.

Though this site does seem (and has seemed to) revolve around Star Wars based games.

As to a new game 'attracting people who don't respect and enjoy our little corner of the internet'

one of two things would likely result:
1.) Temporary lock of new membership(s)
Or
2.) A swift ban hammer swung at the unwanted (and disrespectful) guests

How would you feel if you suddenly got a 72 hour temporary ban when you joined a forum because your very first topic's title was 'to vague'. What would you do when you could post again? Accept correction or flame them for it? Well I got that 72 hour temp ban on another forum I go to, because the rules are Very strict. It was a cold splash of reality that 'This site has rules that are considerably more strict than I am used to'. It makes GT's rules seem like a slice of pie in comparison. But how are the forums there? VERY active and orderly.

My point is, there are other large forums (way bigger than GT) on the internet that, with the right staff, have strict and peaceful communities that thrive and expand rapidly.

I believe GT has the right staff to do such a thing, if or when the time comes.

fastfool, your tirade isnt my problem. If you dont like gt how it is, there is 2393849384 other sites you can go use. right now we are star wars modding site, a forum that people have used for years to be buddies, play star wars games and come here and talk, openly. If you want to try to shape gt with your opinions and threats you are sadly about to be ignored.

I must admit...In GT you can get help with all your SWBFModding problems, and also personal problems sometimes... You just make some real good friends here, and this is one hell of a stable forum... I wouldn't even think of leaving this...

Did I come out rude or angry? My apologies. And, guru, if you meant to call me "fastfool," then I am even more depressed. :(
I hope GT will expand to more public events so that we can get to know each other better. My statement about "leaving GT," was simply in defense of keeping the SW modding capital of the Internet pure. We don't need other games. I, for one, am content with how GT is, except for the logging out after X amount of minutes, which I can handle.

Sorry in advance if somehow my message is interpreted rude.

I think that perhaps your frustration with GT auto-logging you off got you a bit riled up.

We understand what you meant, but it's all a matter of how you word it.

Consider the two following statements:
ANYWAY! My point was that we shouldn't add games except for SW games. I will stay here FOREVER! And that if we add a non SW game, I will LEAVE GT!
or
As I was saying, I would prefer that Gametoast stay dedicated to Star Wars games as Star Wars games have always been the center of GT. I probably wouldn't return to the forums as often if it were a non-Star Wars game, simply because I may lose interest.
As you can see, the two posts, though they practically say the same thing, are taken in the complete opposite direction of the other. Next time just give yourself a little time to cool off, and then review before posting (to check the tone of the post).

You can always log on through a separate page on GT - if you think it may have logged you off (and if you are familiar with tabbed browsing) and then post what you have already typed.

Back on topic: I do not believe the author's intentions were for this thread to alter GT drastically, rather, it was simply asking if GT will be adding other popular games in the near future.

Oh absolutely! Especially if it has mod tools. If there was a need for a Renegade Squadron forum you know this'd be the place to have it too. To bad it was a PSP exclusive.

Lol, when it's been made, then quite likely, yes.

O, o, let's all make topics about SWBF3 being announced at several obscure websites! :D :runaway:

Not to go terribly off-topic, but i heard BF3 will be from other creators than 1 and 2...Will that, if someone has an idea, also mean the whole modding will change? Like the side setup, the lua's and the worlds files? :?

 If it ain't Pandemic then we'll have to learn a whole new game engine. It also means old assets won't work.

*edit*

I'd personally love for it to be Pandemic. They've been totally awesome to the community and have a great, easy-to-learn engine.

I so totally agree! I think it took a lot of modders, including myself, a VERY long time to understand, and use the mod tool, and all files... Otherwise, this WHOLE community must learn new modding... I don't only think that's crap because I'm not feeling to, but people might leave if they'ld have to use a new engine.. Yes, i know that there'll still be BF2, but after a while, 3 will be the main game, just as we have now with 2 and 1 (hope that this makes sense :) )
