i was trying to use a normal rifle as a reward weapon for a chaingun in a custom side, but didn't manage get it working. i tried naming the rifle odf xxxxxxxxx_award_chaingun and gave it the score and medal to unlock things in its odf (both with the value of 1), and called it within the troopers odf as a weapon. ingame the weapon isnt there as a normal primary weapon, but it doesn't unlock even after 'bout 50 kills. Wondered if there's even the possibility to set up custom award weaps

Re: Setting up award weapons?
Isn't it possible to just make the Award Chaingun the same type as for example the Award Rifle? I think you just need to set the score for medals type on the new chaingun and of course, never give both award weapons to the same unit, because no matter if you get Frenzy on a custom unit if that unit doesn't have the award rifle in its corresponding slot, am I wrong?

Re: Setting up award weapons?
well i wanted, that you get a normal rifle as an award weapon as soon as you kill a certain amount of enemies with the chaingun (without replacing the chaingun itself, similar to rocketlauncher and award rocketlauncher). i'm not familiar with the score medal type thing... So I have to set up both weapons being the same "MedalsTypeToUnlock" and make sure that the unit doesnt have more than these two with the same "MedalsTypeToUnlock"?

Re: Setting up award weapons?
If I remember correctly and my double checking is right, both weapons must have ScoreForMedalsType, and they must be the same value. However, the chaingun doesn't need the other line (which is MedalsTypeToLock, the lockout parameter) since you want both. If that's not clear enough, look at the odfs for the rocket launcher and it's award version, since they behave in the way you describe.
