i wa recently trying to add some weapons i made to my test map
but when i did they were large and werent being held right i tried several things but they still look like this any ideas

make sure to freeze the transforms of the model ( not the nulls).
for the position, you can use andewegets ZETools to get a rifletemplate or download it directly from here

i did freeze transforms (of the model only)

It's on the right panel, just right click on the transform bar to collapse it and it should be visible. It was probably hidden if your monitor resolution is small. You also might wanna switch the camera view to user, much better for just viewing.

Looking at the picture I am guessing your export is a merge of various parts.
Was the model scaled after merging or were the bits scaled prior?
If you tried freezing transforms before freezing modelling and it didn't work try doing it the other way around (from a fresh merge of course) freeze modelling then freeze transforms, I have had XSI do similar things and doing it the second way fixes it.
Also, just to make sure, you didn't rotate the dummyroot (or parent null) of the whole thing?
