Turret hp_fire bug v2. [Solved]

Post by sereja2 »

Sorry, for create another topic about this, but my old one, stay unsolved:
forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=28238&sid=9 ... e835a73bbf
Still, after a year of tryings, I am close to solvation as never. I am abondon hopeless idea, to create turret by my self, so I am start exploring already exit turret&vehicle temlates. Most understandable, and suitable for my new tank model, it's UT-AT, maded by Darth Duck. So, I import his model, and start one by one replace his model parts to mine. As you can see, it works fine:

Till, I replace UT-AT turret, to the turret of my tank:

So, "hp_fire bug" is appear, and now, I know for sure, it's realy not connected with hp_fire node, becouse I did not change it. I am use the same odf, same msh.option, same hierarchy tree, even the same name of the turret model: "turret_top". The only difference, in turret mesh, by itself. Seems UT-AT turret, was freezed in the center of DummyRoot, and after that moved to correct position. I am do exactly the same, by clicking Transform>Freeze All Transfoms. Perhaps, it should be freezed by some other way, or edited by somehow else? Please help.

Darth Duck didn't have anything to do with the UTAT source files according to the readme.

Readme File:

Description:

Finally! This file is a .zip file of everything I use for the UT-AT.

The UT-AT model was created and skinned by DooFi.
t551 attempted to get it in-game, and upon becoming confused, Psych0fred finished the job.
I made every single .odf file in this .zip. Please do not modify them without first getting consent from me.

Make sure to credit the above authors for what they have each given.

This is what is contained inside:

* The UT-AT .msh and .odf files.
* The Imperial UT-AT .tga files.
* The Republic UT-AT .tga files.
* The sounds for the UT-AT.
* The .tga file for the laser effect used by the UT-AT.
* The effects files and .tga files for the UT-AT's explosion.

I hope you all make good use of all of this.
Please do not forget to credit the people above if you use this.
Also, if you use the files from this .zip, please state from where you got it.

Thank you.

These offset issues usually happen when you don't do things in a specific order. Move your geometry into basepose position and freeze all transforms first, then create your hardpoints/bones and position them, finally, use the Explorer to set up your complete hierarchy. Test the hierarchy by selecting and rotating your yaw and pitch nulls to make sure everything follows as intended.
