How do YOU play the Game?
I'm just curious... Do most of you play SWBF with just the keyboard and mouse? or do some of you configure a gamepad or joystick... Also in what "view" do you mostly play?
Myself... I normally play in first person view. But I change periodically during the game. If I get into a vehicle... I notice it's a bit easier and you get a sharper turning radius in Third person.
I used to play with keyboard and Mouse... But I recently configured a game controller to do most of what I need on the battlefield and find it easier to utilize all three inputs (gamepad, keyboard and mouse). The mouse of course for sniping...
I'm just curious as to how you all play...

I get out my cellphone and call random people , try updating websites on another pc at the same time and eating at least 2 cookies while playing. Sometimes in clan events or play testing a map some human player will kill me so I actually set down my cookies or cell and start pwning. If I lose I blame it on cookies not wookies.
Ive never listened to the real game music and rarely have the sound on at all. I blast other music while I play. Hey whos shooting me?

Yea... I get what your saying.... I really only go to the keyboard if it's something I haven't configured on the gamepad.... And the mouse I only use if I'm sniping... unless its close range (and then there is no time to switch to another device)... so I make do on the game pad... But this sounds almost "idiotic" to some when I mention it. I know it really comes down to what I'm comfortable with... but as I said... I'm just curious.
Am I the only one who does it this way? The switching of views... picking the better input device for what I need to do... or does it everyone play SWBF like Doom1? keyboard and mouse.

RE: How do YOU play the Game?
Interesting question. I, personally, play with a keyboard and mouse. Though, I originally pioneer from the PS2 version of the game (I switched to the PC version soon after for the mods) when I used a controller, I can't even really use one effectively in this game anymore. I've even tried to go back and play the PS2 version, just for kicks, and I didn't even remember what buttons to press. With the keyboard, I've go a lot more freedom, and have a variety of was I can play with. All my controls are completely customized to my preference. The move buttons are the same old "WASD" configuration, but a lot of my other things (zoom, crouch, prone, switch weapons, etc.) are all in different positions than they originally were. Like, I think the original crouch button was C, but I have it set at the Shift button, since it's easier for me that way. I like to have my controls nice, basic, and neatly grouped together, so as I don't have to reach halfway over the keyboard so as to zoom in or something while an enemy sniper is pumping numerous rounds into my body. Just can't play like that, you know?
And personally, I like to play in third-person while on foot, since that's the way I've always played it, even on the PS2. I think the main reason for that is, if someone sneaks up behind me or something, or a grenade rolls at my feet in back of me, I'll know it's there, and I can jump out of the way. With first-person, you've kinda got a limited view, and can only see what's in front of you, rather than what's going on all around you. Though I do like to switch into first-person view every once in a while just to add a bit of a realistic feel to the game.
As for vehicles, I personally like to play with first-person view, since that's the way I always used to play the Rogue Leader games way back, and it's easier for me that way. Plus, it makes flying more challenging and exciting, since sometimes you'll nearly smack into a building as your turning and not even realize it till to seconds before impact and make a sharp turn to avoid it. Makes flying more interesting that way. But that's just my two cents.
Oh, and I also need to play with headphones. If I don't have headphones, I can't play. I don't know why.

Mouse and keyboard are my favorite input devices... And I'd add I like snipering using any ranged weapon...
(Like the Blaster Pistol or Rocket-Launcher...)

well...me i play old school... "WASD" controls with keyboard and mouse... all keys in default ( except reload... that goes to my mouse's 4th button by my right thumb...i do that for EVERY FPS) 3rd person wail onfoot or flying high in the air, or for vehicular combat (ground) 1st person for flying... and especialy for my fav the gunship... i usualy fly VERY near to the ground in those things that way if i flyby a trooper and i have a slot i just hit "F2" and i am at the perfect level where i dont need to land to grab him...lol also i use that view for the ability to KNOW where the ground is when flying the gunship...i've tried with 3rd person but i always end up hitting the ground....
class.. i usualy use either the sniper or the pilot (depending on map and) if theres a gunship ANYWHERE in the map i'm prolly in it as a pilot... if theres no vehicles in the map...then i'm a sniper...
