how to make a massive lightsaber prop??

hi im trying to make a giant lightsaber as a prop . I want to place a lightsaber in my map like you would for any object.
I have put in my MSH folder the following :
rep_weap_inf_lightsabre.msh
rep_weap_inf_lightsabre.msh option
and
violetlightsaber.tga
I have put in my ODF folder ,the following:
rep_weap_lightsaber.odf
rep_weap_lightsaberr.odf
rep_weap_lightsabery.odf
rep_weap_lightsaberb.odf
and
rep_weap_lightsaberg.odf
I then go to place the lightsaber on Zeroedit and nothing appears on my map (this is guessing that the lightsaber includeds a hilt )
How would i go about ,1st of all, making a lighsaber an object on my map and 2nd of all making it a gigantic saber?
weird i know but it is for a purpose ,dont worry..
ps. i tried to make the saber bigger by this in my msh.option file :
-hiresshadow scale 100
but seein as i cant get a saber onto ZeroEdit i cant tell if it worked.
