Andeweget: Scale it down by about 1/3-1/2 then it should be proportioned correctly. Your skin is pretty good already because it makes the gun recognizable and looks like how it should. All you need to do is add a bit more detail to it and give it a "slightly used" appearance with minor dirt and burn marks around the edge of the barrel.

Here's a part of a project I just started working on. Gonna model everything first then go through and texture it all.

Nice!
Nice models, all of you guys. I didn't even know it was possible to create a new CP prop with the light on the top. All I can think of is putting the actual CP on top.

Yup thats the Halo Magnum.

And just as confirmation.

I have more in various stages of completion including a few unit meshs. My time frame is around 6-8 months though just to warn you guys/gals. Energy sword will probably make it ingame first at this point. For the weapons I'm shooting for 2000 tris or less. The Energy Sword comes in around 516, and is done except for texturing which will be easy on it.

Plasma Pistol and SMG are half finished, I only started on all of this last night.

They are pretty insane, but I'm not sure if you can really do energy swords justice in battlefront. But they do all look almost exactly, if with slightly fewer polys, like their Halo counterparts. Especially the energy sword. Good luck with the project, if you do it right (and I'm sure you will ) it'll probably be amazing.

Haven't played Halo in a while, but if I'm right, the energy sword has an animated texture, and it's slightly transparent. You can do those both w/ the full exporter.

After I looked at the magnum I started hunting around for a community-made Spartan model. I was surprised to find a few that fit the bill. There's also a custom-made Elite for Jedi Outcast, so there's the elite side of things. Man, I'd LOOOOVE to do Halo: Battlefront since I really think it'd fit perfectly, but the amount of work needed shys me away. If the models could be converted legally that would just leave mapping and odf coding, but I've never found any true evidence that it's legal. The HaloUT guys say Bungie gave them permission, but I dunno...

IF we had permission I'd definitely say we had a new mod I'd want to be part of.

You can find some good halo models on sketchup, they just need rigged for the SWBF2(dummyroots,HPs,ect) and exported to MSH.

uh, thats harder than you think,
sketchup-models usually have far too many polygons for battlefront

i once tried to get a bolter from sketchup into battlefront, the skull on it had so many ploys, not a single one would have shown up ingame

redline would i be able to see a wireframe of your models, your texturing is too accurate and the speed at which they are produced I find a little suspicious
