I guess, just, once you destroy the enemy ship, how long do you have to get into a pod, and do you just, like, fall down to the planet and get out?
I'm guessing you have about a minute, it takes a while for the ship to blow up. Once you get in the pod, it goes to a cutscene of the pod leaving the ship, then you're standing next to the pod on the ground in one of the landing pad cps.
As for faults with this game, I'm a little upset that there are only two starfighter classes per team (unless I haven't unlocked them yet, there were
in campaign). Also, having to unlock colors by playing. I really wasn't happy that I had to play through with orange stormtroopers.
I love that melee system though, it would be awesome if someone found out how to implement it in BFII. Probably not possible, but we thought dual pistols was impossible as well a while back

Yeah, I was just wondering about that melee. I have a few questions about it. So basically, if a unit comes within a certain proximity of another enemy unit, they will (both?) automatically try to melee? Does the melee require any aim? If so, does the game do the melee aiming for you or does it have to be manual? And are your other abilities (shooting, sprinting, moving, crouching, etc) disabled while the unit is meleeing?

If they're shooting at the target, they won't melee, if they're shooting at something else they'll occasionally melee. It requires no aiming, but nothing does in this game except for the Ion Cannon and Sniper Rifle. The melee has never missed once. All of the other options except for moving (more of a strafe really) are disabled.
Also, the unit hit stumbles back, kind of like if they were hit with a lightsaber once in Battlefront 2, just a 1 second stun time instead of a quarter of a second.
If anyone wants the map layouts for something they want to try to make, I'll attempt to draw them up when I have the time, kind of busy with school because the teachers love to fire their homework cannons at you at the end of the term.

But anyways, I love how many Ion Cannons there are just sitting there on all of these planets, especially Bespin

Got it today. It turns out that this game is
Also, X-1 is
If you didn't like renegade squadron's controls, this game uses them. Just letting you know

I take it they took out "Sidious" (as I can't actually see his face because it's so dark) saying "Stick to the plan, Kenobi".
And what new heroes are there, aside from X1 and X2? I saw Kota in screenshots, but what else?

Sorry, was kind of tired last night. The melee only activates when you're in close proximity with a unit and it replaces the blaster/shotgun/whatever fire. It still does not require aim.
New heroes...let's see. There's
Master Ferroda, the Chiss Jedi. He gained a pony tail, other than that he's exactly the same as his leaked Alpha appearance.
Falon Grey, The X brothers' unaware genetic father and Rahm Kota's former padawan. He was the guy in the dark brown cape in the alpha video.
Also, X-1 and X-2 both have three separate movesets and models. They have their clone forms, their Empire/Rebellion uniforms, and

I get to try it out on DS this weekend. Judging from the screenies it's tons different, but *might* still be fun. A lot of n-Space's other DS games are.

Just finished the campaign last night, and was quite disappointed. The story felt rushed, and at times I felt the story contradicted the story that was earlier established in the movies. Too many characters were thrown in with no real purpose, and they just felt like cheap cameos as a result. The voice acting for said characters wasn't great either.
Case in point: Some random lady in red body armour starts giving you orders and such. If she was someone from earlier in the Star Wars Universe I wouldn't know, but in this game she is never introduced to you. She just shows up on a level in the campaign and begins telling you what to do. Later on in the game, her voice-actor sounded so bored with what she was reading that I just stopped listening altogether.
The whole Jedi-Clone thing felt tacked on, and wasn't explained thoroughly enough I thought. The relationship between the 2 brothers wasn't went into enough either. Falon Grey felt really cheap as well.
I could go a lot more in-depth, but all in all, the campaign was disappointing. However, I very much like the overall gameplay. There's always something to do, and the Space and Ground battles feel very dependent on each other, which I feel is a good thing in this type of game.
I'd like to hear more about the DS version. That one's gotten hardly any attention...

I've got the DS version. The storyline is the same, but I believe the engine is actually an enhanced version of the engine N-Space used for their DS version of The Force Unleashed.
Firstly, the Campaign has nothing to do with the maps that are played in Instant Action. None of the maps in Campaign are playable in Instant Action as they appear in the Campaign.
In Instant Action, you have four classes to choose from (no sniper as that's never needed) - Assault (Armed with a rifle, shotgun and Thermal Dets), Heavy (armed with Chaingun, Rocket Launcher and Detpacks), Engineer (ARC Caster, Mortar Launcher, Auto Turrets and a repair function) and Spy (armed with dual pistols, a heavy gun, and spread Thermal Dets).
These classes also carry over to the campaign, although instead of changing units, you're changing X2's abilities and weapons.
There are three modes - free-for-all, Team Game and Hero Mode.
I have yet to play the Free For All mode, but I have played the Team Game and Hero Mode matches. Essentially, Team Game, you have one bot or friend to help you and you're against two bots/friends (dependant on whether you'r eplaying solo or multiplayer). You win by gaining points mainly instead of depleting reinforcements (as with the PSP version, and the previous games). You fight three games - Space, Capital Ship and Ground. In Space, you destroy the enemy fighters to score points. In Capital Ship Mode, it's much like CTF, in that you must acquire R2 units to win points. Ground Battle is the closest to classic BF play in that you have to capture CPs as well, and capturing all CPs on a map grants you automatic victory. I think here you have to complete campaign missions to unlock maps, but I'm not sure.
Hero Mode is a free-for-all where you choose your hero and kill as many other heroes as you can to attain victory - you can play on either Mustafar or Bespin. I'm not sure here, but I think heroes differ on both Bespin and Mustafar.
All in all, it's definitely different to the classic BF style of gameplay, but this is on the DS, and overall it's not bad at all, I think.
As for the story, I think it was hastily adapted from the BFIII story. I just hope if BFIII ever gets made they make it better.
