Skinning problems *SOLVED*

Ok, whenever I go to mod some skins such as...the super battle droid, I go to skin him, and then I look at the picture and the whole thing is transparent except fo little things which are mostly transparent, but it is preventing me from skinning many things including weapons!!!! somebody plz help!!!

its a problem with the alpha channels in the GIMP, your need either open them with photoshop or open them with another program and copy/paste it into gimp.
I suggest Infran view, its free and good.

your useing gimp right? just toggle "tools" scroll to "color tools", then select "levels". In the popup box click on the Channel and change it to the Alpha channel. then just play around with the bars and stuff.
After your done changeing the skin youll have to change the alpha levels back, or else the skin will be very shiny.
