He maybe 'Captain Fordo', but Obi-wan called him 'Commander' in the 2D animated Clone Wars. He is a commanding officer, so I can see where people get that from as well.

Thx for the good words troopers. Anyhow, heres my white ATRT Trooper. I manage to seperate the head textures from the body textures, so no more using the leg textures lol. However, I still cant seem to view it in MSN VIEWER. I also had to fight with the uv's mapping to find all the head pieces. This took me 5 hours to find and finish. It was one of the uglyest but uv's I dealt with.

But end results are lovely.
Enjoy

Anywho, I had tried vampire_lord's method for camo with GIMP, but failed at around step 4 or so. Still, I sat around and thought and got a few ideas and here's one of them brought to life:
Stock Marine (for comparison):
EDIT - Got the kama done as well.

Spetsnaz (based on a game I have):
Took me a lot of time but I am really proud how it turned out.
PS: I need someone that remove for me the backpack from the stock rebel engineer model.

Hm... Lighten the eyes a bit, and possibly the cloth too, and its one of the best galactic marine skins I've seen in a while.

Oh, all I did was edited the cloth parts to test out my method. I haven't touched the eyes or the faceplate or the grey clothes or anything, really, but the maroon-colored stuff. I suppose I'll do that, just to make a full job of it.
The Spetsnaz I like, but the camo on his face comes off looking...strange. There's probably no way around that, though.

I tried the method with an EP3 trooper....didn't come out too well, in my opinion. Bit too much contrast, and the faceplate could be lighter.
Stock for contrast:
Mine (excuse the rifle):

both marine and gunner look great, although the effect may be a bit too strong on the gunner...

No offence but i don't like the ep3 trooper, it's too dark.

Take it easy, we're just trying to tell you that "your skinning method" is only make little edits to skins created by other ... thing that I think is not right.
