The installation problems are being caused by bspatch and bzip2. They are not consistant in patching the files. I will rewrite my stuff to use xdelta. I started with that, then made the bad choice to use bspatch. I've fixed the HUD problems.

Everything works okay on my system (sides, shell, FC), finally with this version. For the shipped maps were you still gonna add preview videos?

I wanted to, but didn't have the time. Instead, I made an 'official map' image and used that as the video for all the retail maps.
Oh and I'd hate to say it, but you need to redownload v1.3 again. Revision 83 is out and this is the public release (assuming there isn't some major problem...). I'll upload it to filefront if someone with XP and someone with Vista give it a green light.
I updated the first post with the details and moved this topic into the
Released Maps section.
I'm off to bed. Thanks everyone for helping and waiting.

Okay, asfar as I can tell it works perfectly on vista. Not only that but maps that used to crash or not work now work perfectly!
Its simply fantastic!

Quick question; is there any way to remove the new hud? Not to say that I don't like it, its a very nice hud but I just like everything looking like Pandemic originally made it to look like because it matches everything else better. I know you had other batch files that would remove it in earlier versions, did you just forget to include it or did you just decided to leave it out?

Once this is installed (either with the Pack or without), you can run menu.bat and there is an option to remove the new HUD.

If you run menu.bat, it should give you options to remove the custom sides, HUD, award effects, and disable the custom map colors. It should have displayed these in the manu after you installed it (assuming it didn't auto-install with the swbf1 pack).
Edit: Yeah, what he said.

That's odd...When I go to the Main Menu the only options I get are:
When I select "Install the Unofficial 1.3 Patch" it just reinstall's it and when I select "Exit" well, it exits...This is Revision 83 that came with the SWBF Conversion Pack and I've tried downloading Revision 83 separately and its still the same. The options used to be in the other Revision(s).

ARC_Commander wrote:Okay, I just checked out the AAA script. Turns out that the memory pool responsible for loading mission.lvl entries maxes out at 500 mission scripts.
It appears that it has little to do with the whole AddDownloadableContent thing - the log file lists all of the entries, all 503 of them when the most recent CP beta and my pre-alpha BFX are installed.
The culprit appears to be whatever is responsible for loading mission scripts into memory.
This is what the logfile says:
Code: Select all
Message Severity: 3
.\Source\LoadUtil.cpp(1019)
Unable to find level chunk in MISSION.lvl
Message Severity: 3
.\Source\LuaHelper.cpp(112)
OpenScript(yav1b_1flag): script (45e976b2) not found
Message Severity: 5
.\Source\GameState.cpp(1283)
Could not open MISSION\yav1b_1flag.lvl
Have you broke up all the maps in mission.req? If you have, try breaking up the req some more so that there's only 10-15 in each section. Lastly, check to see which ones specifically crash. Odds are it'll be the last few in the map list (like the YAV maps) so that's where I'd check.

If you're still working on this (I haven't heard otherwise) could you add L-Lego era or T-Toys era. I have begun work on some of the sides and thought it could be fun, assuming those letters aren't taken yet.

It is. Try pressing '7' then 'Enter' at the menu, then check to see if it creates the file
<swbf2 game dir>\v1.3patch\settings\noAwards.txt. If it doesn't, check see if it put that file somewhere else...
Also, what Windows version do you have?
I still can add support for more eras, but I don't think the people who installed the convo pack would want to redownload the 104MB v1.3 patch for such a small change. I might be able hack it all together in a AAA or ZZZ map. Of course, a small patch to patch the patch would be a better patch

I've got chunks of about 20. It is, indeed, the Yavin maps that crash to a fatal.

Pressing 7 in the Main Menu gives me this:
It doesn't create any file in that directory or anywhere else in the SWBF2 directory. The v1.3patch folder is the one that came with the SWBF Conversion Pack and it is located in Star Wars Battlefront II/GamData but when I moved the v1.3patch folder to Star Wars Battlefront II (Star Wars Battlefront II/v1.3patch) than I got the above message excluding the "Text copying disabled." message and the "noAwards.txt" is in the v1.3patch/settings folder. It seems that all of the 1, 2, 3, etc commands work except they aren't listed in the Main Menu and some of them have errors (Example for number "3": "Could not find C:/Program Files/LucasArts/star Wars Battlefront II/v1.3patch/settings/hasHud.txt). Oh, and I am running Windows XP Home Edition (SP3).

Which Version is included in Convo Pack 2.0 ?
Is there still a need to install r83?

Just wanted to say that I reinstalled the SWBF Conversion Pack and now mysteriously all the commands for the Main Menu of the Unofficial 1.3 Patch appear. I have no idea what caused them not to appear before with the same version (R 83) that came with the Pack but now they work. No further assistance needed, Thanks

I completely love the new look on Jango Fett! He almost looks realistic! You guys did a great job reskinning him and making him with his REAL blaster pistol. My only complaint was that why didn't you have Jango have duel pistols since this can now be accomplished?

Jango Fett doesn't have duel pistols, even though it is possible, because that would mess up multiplayer compatiblity. The Unofficial Patch 1.3 is suppose to allow you to play online with people who do and do not this patch as long if they have the Official 1.1 patch installed.
