YAVIN MAPPACK
BY: Acryptozoo
the yavin mappack is basically a collection of 5 maps ranging form the three inhabitale planets of the yavin system ( yavin 8 and yavin 13) and one in the space over the system
here is the obligatory screenshots and description of all the maps
Yavin IV: Canopy
yavin iv canopy is set in the dark jungles of yavin about 200 feet up overlooking a small valley it is full of trees and has a muddy stream running trough it, in the canopy of the large tree layer is a system of pathways that rebel sentries used to relay messages they are now part of a small scale skirmish between imperial and rebel forces
Screenshots:
Yavin 8: Tundra
Yavin 8 tundra is set on the icy world of yavin 8 it is located on a vast tundra with mountains in the background a stream running down through the mountains goes out into the sea, now this beautiful world has turned into a battlefield as alliance and imperial forces battle to control the moon near the alliance base imperial bombing runs initially threatened the outpost on the planet but a anti air gun has stopped them cold imperial forces turn their aim on the gun as rebels desperately try to defend it, they called in the nebulon b2 frigate prosperity for local fire-support
Screenshots:
Yavin IV: River Basin
Yavin IV river basin is set out on the sunny coastline of yavin IV the rebels have a small naval listening post out there the imperials must take this out to advance towards the main base, the U shaped land mass makes it hard for the imperials to get there which gives the rebels plenty of room to defend their base.
Screenshots:
Yavin : Orbital assault
in the yavin system imperial and rebel navies duke it out to control the aerospace, much to the imperials dismay the alliance navy is holding there seemingly invincible navy back, its anyones fight now. (i will change the planet!)
Screenshots:
Yavin 13: Desert
Yavin 13 desert is set on ... you guessed it the arid world of yavin 13 neither imperial or alliance forces have established a base yet, so both worlds have landed troops to try and control an ruined desert in a box canyon on the planet
Screenshots:
Yavin IV: Airfeild
yavin iv airfield takes place on a rebel base/landing strip somewhere out in the vast grasslands of yavin IV it hosts all sorts of fighters and transports, which can be seen all over the base, the imperials during their conquest of yavin are attacking the small base, but with fighters support the rebels are putting up a good fight
it will be a fighter dominated map but you can use tanks and infantry too there will be tons of ai piloted tie driods and airspeeders for you to blast :maulsaber:
Screenshots:
Yavin IV: River
Welcome to the expansive Wayward jungle of Yavin IV, its lush rainforests harbor many species of animals and plants, unfortunatly it is now harboring the galactic civil war, as alliance and imperial forces clash to control the major river that runs through the wayward jungle
the star wars equivelent to the amazon the rainforest turns into a battlefield one side will prevail!
Screenshots:
-------------------------------------------
over all the mappack is about 60% done just need to polish up the maps and add all the planning and all that fun stuff,
Beta testers aren't needed at the moment ill post when i am going to open up the spots
so enjoy
phew that was alot of typing

Only one is "broken", all the rest work for me.

I find the green-ness of the first map rather odd, as well as the sky of the River Basin map.

The first map is based off of a SWG map, and I think it looks cool. Its also rather opinionated there, lots of things look "odd" in Star Wars, I.E. Felucia. However,I concur :plokoon: with the assessment of the river basin sky, the contrast looks way too high, and is completely unrealistic, those colors could never exist in nature.

So we are officially allowed to use Empire at War models? (I saw that frigate you put in there...hehe)

Its a Community made model, and therefore, basically just a model. If it was made by Lucasarts and used ingame, its an Empire At War model, and therefore we couldnt use it and put it on SWBF Files. However, since its a community made model, its only technically made for EAW, it can be converted and used by anyone.

Thats a model made by an awesome modeler Warb_Null
empireatwar.filefront.com/file/Mercy_Frigate
I use several of his models in my TCW mod as well, his TCW Ywing, Nu shuttle, Consular cruiser Pelta Frigate, and many more.

It would be a good idea to remove that, or send it to me to check where it is from.

Wow dude, that's surely a nice mappack you have there! Sure its a Yavin one but the planet looks like it got an entire makeover. I've never seen it so pretty.
Really nice job! Looking forward to more updates and eventually the release!
