Re: A big big problem
What OS are you using?
Try shutting down with this command and see what happens:
If all else fails then I would press and hold the Power button until it shuts down rather than pulling the plug.
Edit: fixed^^
A little searching led me to this site:
http://www.aumha.org/win4/a/shutdown.htm
even though it talks of older operating systems the information may still be relevant to your problem.
Try shutting down with this command and see what happens:
Code: Select all
shutdown -s -t 01Edit: fixed^^

With some computers, you may have to hold it longer. For instance, my computer, you hold it for 7 seconds.AceMastermind wrote:If all else fails then I would press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to shut it down rather than pulling the plug.

Use System Restore to roll your system back to an earlier date. Just pick a date before things started going funny. If system restore doesn't fix it it may be a hardware issue.

yup definitely try that if nothing works.Teancum wrote:Use System Restore to roll your system back to an earlier date. Just pick a date before things started going funny. If system restore doesn't fix it it may be a hardware issue.
also is this windows? cause a lot of windows computers you have to tame and these stupid bugs stop happening. (i got a similar bug where it would never finish shutting down and a system restore fixed it.) i know it sounds funny but its true lol
