Dwarf Fortress. Can be found on bay12games.com or bay12forums.com. Easily the best free game I've ever played, although it does take a bit of imagination on your part because of the graphics (ASCII). I highly recommend it.

SWGEmu is a great alternative to those wanting to play a fun SW MMO without the subscription and I'd imagine with the age of the game that it can be bought for next to nothing now a days. Though in beta it's still very playable and has A LOT of people playing atm, is set to the more favored Pre-CU gameplay (can't start as jedi), once the OR is out JTL will be worked on as the only expansion. PSOBB is just a great game and one of the OG's of the MMO, lots of people still playing.

There's an awesome free online multiplayer fps shooter game called uberstrike which is actually extremely fun and low bandwidth. Even with our 30kbps internet connection it runs really smoothly. The graphics are quite good and the gameplay is awesome. Check it out and join now! Its really funnnnnnnnn

I tried it out, really liked it. I played through the entire story mode, I might do some of the challenge stuff later.

Anarchy Online was released in 2001. I've only been playing it for two years. It's a really complex game that has many aspects to it, one being the ugly game engine. I've tried getting my friends to play it, but they complain about the graphics engine. The engine has supposedly been worked on for a number of years and there are occasional screens glimpsing at the wondrous world. In fact, as I write this, I saw that there will be a video of the new graphics engine this month! YAY!

So, if any of you have questions about this game, let me know! It's really fun and free to play.

Blacklight: Retribution.

It's a cyberpunk themed, "Modern-FPS" styled F2P FPS. It's currently in Open Beta, and is really good, especially quality-wise. This isn't just your run of the mill F2P FPS like Combat Arms, this is a good quality shooter that happens to be F2P. Plus nearly all (If not all) of the gameplay affecting stuff you can get without paying anything. It's pretty balanced too, so no "pay2win" problems with it.
