I agree, he died a warrior's death. He was never my favorite character but he was a well done character who actually had motives and desires unlike some other characters in the series.

I already deleted the episode from my DVR, but did anyone catch whether:

Ok, so I don't remember the whole quote, but he claimed the dark saber and referred to it as a sword.

It was a shame to see Pre Vizsla go since he was becoming an interesting character, but man, if that wasn't one of the best fights in all of Star Wars! I can only assume that Maul and Savage will be on the way out soon, so I look forward to seeing how that plays out.

I think that this has been my single favorite episode of the season. Is it weird that I was cheering for Visla to overthrow the Duchess?

To be honest Duchess Satine put her morals over the safety of her people, rather than protect her people she chose to let them get screwed over by criminals for multiple seasons now. It's not like Pre Vizzla is necessarily a bad guy, sure he is part of Death Watch but as far as I could tell he wanted to restore his people to their former glory, while the duchess sat idly by as her people suffered.

I know. Duchess Satine has always annoyed me with her pacifism. While the Republic has saved her butt plenty of times, she still refused to side with them. There is the one JFK quote, "Peace is not the absence of War." I really think that stands with Satine. If Mandalore chose a side in the war, and swayed a few star systems with them, the added support would certainly help in making the war close faster.

He wasn't just PART of Deathwatch, he was the LEADER. So if DW is bad, Vizla is bad. He ordered a village burned to the ground, after having taking them all as slaves and hostages. That sound like a nice guy?
Also, what former glory is he referring to? The Manalorian Wars? Taking and destroying hundreds of Republic worlds, nuking them into dead rocks, for no reason other than for glory, and not even caring who won or lost?
Satine was reacting against that, and while pacifism is a good ideal, it's not practical in the middle of a battlefield, you have to protect your people. But terrorism, imperialism and pacifism aren't the only possible positions.

Yeah, Vizla is definitely a bad guy. "Code of honor" or not, he's a terrorist.

I think the fact that Satine is flawed, she refuses to do anything other than be a pacifist, makes her a more interesting character. She has flaws, something all characters really need. I like her as a character, and will be sad when they inevitably kill her off.

There, changed the title to include auto spoiler warning. When 90% of the chat is in spoiler's something's silly. Now we can all talk in the open about how Obi-Wan died and they brought him back as a clone.
