Simple Question:
Anyone know any good game trials or downloads?
I found the Halo Trial pretty enjoyable, a lot of content in a trial.

The SWRC demo was pretty good, just off the top of my head.

Trackmania Nations: Forever is an amazing free racing game.

I found the F.E.A.R. demo highly enjoyable, if a bit short.
The Battlefield 2142 demo is pretty good, since it's multiplayer.
Rainbow Six Vegas Lockdown demo was another good one. You can customize around 10-15 weapons for the members of your squad, but I've never gotten multiplayer to work.

I'm gonna have to agree there. That's the only racing game I really enjoy.

If you have an ATI graphics card, then you can get Half Life 2: Deathmatch for free along with a Half Life 2 short campaign/tech demo.

Wasn't there an offer like that for Nvidia, with Portal: First Slice as well? I think it might still be in effect.

Edit: Yes, as far as the link goes (I didn't actually try to download it, as I don't have Steam installed anymore) it looks to be intact. Even if it doesn't work/you don't have an Nvidia GFX card, Portal: First Slice (it's in the Steam catalog) is still a very good demo, as it gives you 11 of the 16+ levels of Portal.

Woops, completely forgot the link

May be the only one who thinks this, but Rise and Fall: Civilizations at war will provide at least 10-20 hours of gameplay before it gets boring, unless you like RTS's in which case it will last much longer.

You could answer both of those if you downloaded the Crysis demo.

Lols @ Mav.

I just tried out the Men of War demo, and I must say I'm impressed. The looting enemies thing it pretty awesome, and it's not one of those RTS games where you bum-rush an enemy to win.

I thought I'd save myself an hour and a half+ of downloading/installing and ask here, as that's what this topic was for.

I don't have an answer for you, since I've never tried it, but if you're not sure if your computer can run Crysis, why ask? You might as well knock two birds out with one stone and download it and try.

Yes, I think I may.

Sorry for the snippiness in my earlier response (if you noticed it), I'm not sure why I took any offense.

Oh pish tosh, goodness knows I can issue a gentle ribbing once or twice a day.

Besides, you're not banned, how badly could I have taken it? :P

(No just kidding I would never do something like that.)

Try this. It's a pretty useful, free and safe site that examines your computer and determines whether you can run a game or not.

Oh, that's pretty useful. That should be stickyed here in this forum.
