I experimented with transparent objects after seeing a tutorial on the basics of the material settings.

That was my inspiration, though the reddish blobs trail in the background are supposed to be red bloodcells

Well, there are about 100 coffee beens in the view, 3 different variations with all a transparancy material applied. So they had to be pretty lowrez, because my computer already kept going on the verge of crashing Blender when I render this. And I'm 100% sure it's the amount of objects in my scene, I have learned enough about Blender to say that I think I optimized the rest pretty well.

they all look great! only one thing: the fabric of the kamas looks a bit too raw and static, you could try to distort it a bit and make the pattern a bit smaller/less strong

Yeah, i have seen taht those kamas look like cartboard.... i said at Deviant Art that i was going to fix errors when i finish all of them
so i will improve those kamas with a capre texture sometime.

Just messing around on artPad for about 20 minutes. The cool thing about this site is, while you CAN just skip to the end to see the final product, you can also see how I made it. (in fast-forward, of course, although if you REALLY WANT to, you can also see it in real time)
