XSI 5.11 missing DLL

Whenever I try to launch XSI Advanced or Essentials 5.11 an error message pops up saying, "ilcor10.dll not found, reinstalling this application may fix this problem." I looked for the DLL in the XSI 5.11/Application/bin/ directory and the file is in two more folders, so I don't understand why I am getting this error. How do I fix this problem?

Do a search of the softimage directory for a file called runmeonce.bat and run it.
You also have to run the program from the Start Menu Program list (you can create a desktop shortcut from there as well)

I was only able to find a batch called runonce.bat, which I ran and it did its thing with a bunch of DLLs (I think I saw, at least), but XSI still will not start, no matter if I start it from the All Programs menu or the install directory, although the error message no longer appears.

When I monitor it in Task Manager it just stays there using 6,000-9,000 kb of RAM.

Try reinstalling but running the installer as administrator in XP SP3 compatibility mode, I'm assuming you're running Vista.

He does (although he also has XP, Windows 8, and Unbuntu. He works with Vista the most, as far as I know).

I wonder if I should get 5.11 and try to start making models with it. Or rather, using it for the Pandemic addon, and still make models in Blender. Meh, I don't have the time. *shrugs*

Ugh, this is such a pain, but whatever, I want to be able to use the Pandemic Tools.

IMO it would be a huge waste of time to model in some other program when he has 5.11, he'd just spend extra time doctoring up the model after importing it since it will get triangulated and normals wont be preserved.

Not if I export it out of Softimage 2012 as COLLADA using Crosswalk.

I have Mod Tool 7.5 and it is of course leaps and bounds better than 5.1 (minus no rendering) but I still don't model SWBF2 stuff in it just cause I'd rather not deal with converting, I add too many things that don't get preserved through file transfer.

Well which file format are you trying to export into to transfer into 5.11?

I was using the old dotXSI 3.x just because of it's reliability, everything would be fine in XSI but normals and UV's would be jacked in game after export no matter how many times I froze the stack or reprojected. Not a nub to this either, 8+ years in the game.

COLLADA exports fine; it includes normals and UVs like you need.
