Hi,

i really searched and found the XSI FAQ Thread, but my question isn't answered yet. So i always read if you are a student XSI is free for you. Thats great. I'm a student :D But i haven't found where to download XSI as Student free. Only found other software for Autodesk.

What you want is called Autodesk Softimage.

I have the student license, with it I got Mudbox 2013, Softimage 2013, 3DS Max 2013 and Maya 2013 all free, it's pretty awesome but don't think with it you'll be exporting anything to SWBF2. Pandemic addon only works for 4.2-5.11 but ANDE's addon may work for newer versions but right now I think he's focusing on Mod Tool 7.5 since anyone can get that.

I'm still rocking a version of 5.1 that I've had since it was new so I'm still able to export, the only one I really wanted with the student license was Mudbox.

Except that it's not. It's for sculpting high poly models, usually for normal maps. Softimage can't do that nearly as well.

You need to google, learn the program and basics before you start modeling. No one is capable of diving straight in right away.

so i want the right dor and the left dor to be only one polygon. i used the merge funktion shown in the documentation, but it doesn't work. And i want the door to be animated so if your walk to the door it opens. Than i searched for the textures and found the 2d texturing in the documentation, but it doesn't wok too. is there maybe a better tutorial showing what i really need for the basics for SWBFII??

==EDIT==

i have some problem with this here

The Pandemic Tools will not work with any XSI version above 5.11. Use ANDE's XSI/ZE Tools instead.

Like I said, you need to learn how to use the program efficiently before trying to mod.

But i could install it without problms, and the clothing and flag thnig works without error. only the export. and there it says it's because of the 64 bit system.
