Iv very nearly finished the awesome TIE DEFENDER.

Just gotta TIE up a few loose ends ;) ,texture wise ...then get it in game . I have already managed to get another fighter in game (for the mandalorian wars mod) today so this should be a piece of cake .

This baby will destroy all oncomers :)

Itl be available to all you modders on release .

Very nice. I think it'd probably go good in my Kessel map... I don't know, we'll see.

Can't wait to try it out! (I've always liked the TIE Defenders better than the other ones anyway...)

Good work as always, lucky for you yor tie dosen't require animtion. lol
(lack of animation is the main resion my v-wing isn't relesed yet, but feer not I have overcome the problem ;) )

ya about 2 hours ago i was like i gotta make a vehicle to release ....... i went tho a few like jugganought , a wing etc but i deicided to stay away from animation . So I did this baby :)


just gotta set up the lasers ans ion cannons now :)



you will notice that where the 3 poles from the body attach to the wings the texture is of the tie doorway. this is only temp ... i just havent edited the tie . tga yet (apart from the red laser points)

itl be out tomorow.

Sweet it got ion cannons? that looks totaly cool, me and str gota use that on one of are maps...

does it turn realy sharp like the intercepter? i love how the intercepter does that...

oh i should make a map intercepter vrs. defender!

ya .

if saturns reads this it would be helpful if you could pm the odf of your intercepter so i can balance this with that or just let me know if the intercepter is pretty much the same as the tie fighter? (armor , speed , guns etc)

i know what makes the tie fighter flying so cool :) iam using it in my kashyyyk airfight v2 :) droidfighter fly like the tie int and the jedi star fighter too makes fun :)

yes this are only a few lines in the odf

this section:

Acceleraton = 40.0
MinSpeed = 20.0
MidSpeed = 55.0
MaxSpeed = 100.0

PitchRate = 1.00
PitchFilter = 2.90
TurnRate = 1.25
TurnFilter = 5.75
BankAngle = 1.5
BankFilter = 2.0
LevelFilter = 2.0

change them into the lines above and i guess it will fly like you want ;)

ohh! u need to create a new odf!copy a shipped odf like tie fighter and put it in your odf folder.....rename it!!then open the odf with an text editor and change what i said.....only 2-3 numbers!
then copy the necessary msh files and tgas in the msh folder!Thats it!

Hmmm..... according to his profile he hasn't posted since the end of May. Too bad. I would love to get an A-wing in.

Anyway, the Defender is looking nice! Can't wait to try it out. So how are those ion cannons going to work anyway? Just like normal lasers? Or are you doing some alterations.
