make the lvl file, calling the units the same as the 6 units on the original team rep, cis, all, imp, make the lvl file, copy the original team lvl file from gamedata/data/_lvl_pc/side into a backup folder, rename you side lvl to the side you want to replace, there you go. if you want a side with more than 6 units, this should help
editing shipped(official) maps

Also I would recommend checking the FAQ Thread. Look under the "LUA" section. :wink:

Note that Fiddler's method is called a "side mod" and breaks online compatability if the changes are anything more than visual. To keep online compatability and still be able to play your units on stock maps, check the v1.3 patch's documentation on making a custom era.

A .lvl file is a compilation of several files you can mod. (it's not very easy to edit .lvl files)
I strongly recommend you to read the documentations of the modtools, they make everything more easy to understand.

EDIT:
Oh and about that doubleposting, there's an edit button in the bottom right corner of all your posts, you can use that one to edit your last posts.

Wait a minute, I just noticed this; you haven't been welcomed to Gametoast yet;
Welcome to gametoast! Enjoy your stay here, happy modding :)
Be sure to read the rules though, they seem to be a lot different from the regular rules (they're a bit more strict, but that helps keepings things regulated here)

It's not just LUA that's there; it's pretty much everything. Skinning tutorials included. May want to go over those, you might understand some of them better than that video (which I can't check over personally atm due to my lack of audio).

For ODF editing, I use the stock Microsoft notepad. Check the FAQ Thread under ODF for three other editing programs.

What you need to do, for a basic side mod, is first set up a custom side. I see you have another topic open about that, so we'll solve your problems there first, shall we? Then we can move on to the next step.

On an off-topic note, is there some language you prefer over English?
