Re: Am i dumb or something
Your ping is probably too high. Which server are you trying to make a connection with? I recommend trying SWGO - Jedi Battle Arena, it always pings very well.

Go to speedtest.net, click "Begin Test", and tell us what the Ping, Download speed, and Upload speed are.

Are you playing either on a laptop or a Desktop using an on board video port?
If so that may be your problem, there is a trobleshooting doc on the CD it details all that I just mentioned.
My old laptop I could host games but could not join, would get the same error.

Hmm, this would actually make a lot of sense because of the number of entities the game is required to render at once, and it's especially worse online because everybody else is doing their own thing as well as the A.I.FragMe! wrote:Are you playing either on a laptop or a Desktop using an on board video port?

You might want to be more specific than that. What brand, what model, or at least just tell us the graphics card and processor power.TEST wrote:yea im using a laptop
Also, does it take 2 minutes from when you load the game or a map before the loadscreen appears? If you have a 2 minute long black screen before anything happens, then I know your problem.

Is this your own home network or is this a neighbor's/school/community network you're getting your internet from. Though a totally microscopic possibility, it could have to do with certain firewalls placed on your network.

Re: "Connection to host lost" when choosing class?
From Trouble Shooting Doc
Intel 915 or 945G
When playing Star Wars Battlefront II on a system with one of these chipsets when using driver version GFX_XP2K_MCE_14.15.0.4363_PV.EXE (6.14.0010.4363) or win2k_sp1416 (6.14.0010.4384), you may experience the following issues:
• You may experience a long pause when loading the game or loading levels. This may cause the screen to be blank for close to 1.5 minutes.
• You may receive a “Connection to Host Lost” message when attempting to join Multiplayer games.
• The game may crash to the desktop when Lighting Quality is set to Medium or High in the Video Options menu. Setting Lighting Quality to Low corrects this issue.
Does your laptop use this chipset or the graphics driver mentioned?
Can you play other games besides Star Wars on line using you present internet connection?
Which ones?

What brand and how old is your laptop?
What operation system are you using?
Check for the things I mentioned in the last post.

As a side note, more than just those two chipsets will cause the same issue. My old netbook had the same issue, and had niether chipset mentioned.
Which is why I wanted him to tell me what his graphics card is(so that I might know if it was good enough to play online), but he ignored my question.

You can always ask us if you need help getting the information we need.
Hold the Windows Key + R to bring up the Run Window. Type dxdiag and hit enter. If you did all that right, a window should pop up that looks something like this.

Re: "Connection to host lost" when choosing class?
It's either the hardware issue FragMe! and THEWULFMAN are working with you on or it's your Wifi connection. Wifi isn't great for online gaming. If you can connect through a non-wireless internet connection do you still have issues? Also if you join a server and just spectate, do you still quickly lose the connection?TEST wrote:i can join a server but when i get to where to pick a class on the map its say connection to host lost it happens on every server

Re: "Connection to host lost" when choosing class?
Yep, you definitely have the issue FragMe! posted (see below). The only thing you can try is updating your driver version. Past that you're stuck unfortunately.
The easiest way to check for an update is to head to www.windowsupdate.com
