You could be right. A desktop is definitely a more viable option for gaming. I just prefer the portability of a laptop.

I was thinking a mid range Nvidia 8600M series card will be good enough, as I can't really afford the higher end gaming notebooks with the 9800M series and above . The only problem is you have to upgrade every couple of years as new releases get released.
Don't buy a laptop off of eBay, too much can go wrong with it.
ASUS makes great and affordable gaming laptops.
I suggest saving up to about $1100, and buying the following. Its specs will stomp anything that's 8600M or below. It has a GTX260 M graphics chipset, which is the rough equivalent to a Desktop GeForce 9800GT (all laptop GFX are
not at the same performance rating as their desktop counterparts, they are usually 1-3 steps below), and a 2.0GHz Centrino 2 Dual Core CPU. The CPU clock is kinda low but the centrino architecture is good and has at least 3MB L2 cache. Unless you can manage to dig up a G50 VT-X1, the G51-VX-RX05 is the best gaming laptop for $1000 and under.

It does look pretty sweet. Then again there's always a Sager with a GTX280M, but then I'd probably have to sell my liver. I just thought I could get a bargain on ebay, because I don't earn that much, and buying a new one would break the bank.

So, gameplay looks great, but what war/military conflict is this? And why are the Russians baddies again? ):(

Oh.. Wow. That's ridiculous. So I guess no more paintball mods? Or any kind of mods? Wow, not gonna lie, I really disagree with that decision - and I'm sure a whole bunch of others do too.
Seems like they're trying to make gaming more accessible and easy to everyone, but really, it's mostly only the hardcore gamers who play games like this. At least, regularly.
[EDIT]
I guess you could sign the petition, but I HIGHLY doubt that it'd make any difference.

Yeah, those rarely ever do anything.
That is a radical change to online gaming. I don't really like it either. I don't think it will work out.

Yeah. No DS. That's why I'm mad at IW. Well more like Activision. This direction for online is stupid. PC. Personal Computer. Not Personal Console.
I like having my servers and the possibility for mods. And getting patches and new maps for FREE. Remember the days when a dev updated their game for free to keep players playing it? When you got maps and quests and etc. and not just a fix for like a particle effect or whatever. And yes I signed it.
Also check out BFBC2's tweet. They taking hits at IW and Act for this move. I bet it's that bloody Activision CEO. He's a jerk.
