WIP: Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic
WIP/Pre-Alpha

Overview
Well as some of you know I recently have been working on a new map called the Old Republic. It is based on the game KOTOR 2 during the assault on Telos after the Mandalorian wars. The map has two modes. Clone wars has a conquest with seven cps with one side being the Republic Soldiers with repsharpshooter's skin as a base and the Republic's sounds and weapons with the rebel marines meshes and the other is the sith mercenaries which are more advanced troops based on my custom skins and the luke and Han storm meshes and health/anims. They also have custom commando like weapons like flamethrowers, and also some KOTOR 2 weapons with new effects such as the concussion grenade, Ion grenade, EMP Grenade, and Plasma grenades all more damaging then the default thermal detonator. Both sides have a swordsmen unit with the vibro sword weapon. The sith mercenarie classes are as follows. And they are not in any order.

Mercenary
Rifle, Pistol, Thermal detonator

Veteran Mercenary
Vibro Sword, Buff Damage

Mercenary Commander
Mortar Launcher, Rifle, EMP grenade, Fusion cutter

Mercenary Sniper
AWARD Sniper rifle, pistol mines

Mercenary Commando
flame thrower, plasma grenade

Stealth Mercenary
Steath, double vibro blade, Concussion grenade

The jedi round has sith units vs. Jedi units.

The classes are different. Each team has the hero from the conquest clonewars round as a class. There is a Sith Assasin, Sith Marauder, Sith Padawan, Sith Aprentice, and Lord Malek. Not to be confused with Darth Malak. More info on this later. Please see the screens for further info.

Okay, thoughts on this:

The units. They look GREAT!!!

The map. Errrmmm, few suggestions:
1) Grass. Add some foliage onto it, just to get it looking nicer.
2)Ebon Hawk. Pretty sure there is a custom model for it somewhere.
3)Acclamator. Scale it down!

But yeah, looks cool.

Ask Dann for his ebon hawk model. Looks pretty good, but you should have some crashed ships and burning buildings, so it adds to the battle torn effect. :chew:

Gogie made the Ebon Hawk vehicle, not Dann.

Also, You spelled "Malak" wrong, you have it localized as "Malek"

That's Telos? I'm sorry, but I don't see any resemblance.

Agreed on all counts. I'd also try to add something to that hangar if you're gonna leave it exposed like that. It just looks out of place right now.

Proving people wrong IS fun! Nice idea! But I think there needs to be more stuff on the map. Big empty fields with no cover make for bad gameplay. Especially when the units stand out.

Is the rocket with the rifle anims the default rocket?

well, I like the idea. um, but I don't know if the combination of both the green field and having the icy mountains in the background, i.e. the polar region, realistically work.

True to what everyone else is posting, you do have to add various elements because its rather empty. Unfortunately, I don't know of any cannon sources as to what was actually on the surface of telos other than some grass. Perhaps some caves, or a mine?

There where some cliffs, a bay, some trees of different sorts, Czerka had a base there also.

I appreciate all the help guys! I am adding the ebon hawk right now. Also, about the emptiness is there a way to put tall grass in the game and have it not dissapear every time you go away from it?

Yeah, but in SW: KotOR II there's the Telos Restoration Project, unless of course this map takes place before that and also before KotOR I. O_o

It really depends.

Also, of course like the others I suggest using the Ebon Hawk model and also, maybe have the Acclamator more 'Old OLD Republic' like scheme or possibly get something more along the lines of a Republic Dropship, because as far as I am concerned, Acclamators weren't in that era. XD

As for the sky, maybe it should look all murky or something like the 'barren wasteland outside of the Telos Restoration Zone'. I don't know, whatever you want. :P

Anyways, good luck. Speaking of mapping, I should be getting back to my map soon. Real life stuff has been impeding my work on my Star Wars Clone Wars - Dantooine.

Speaking of which, if you want my Old Republic "Hammerhead" Cruiser, to put in the sky dome, I'll give it to you.

It's not 100% accurate, but it should do fine for a sky dome.

got the ebon hawk with the new model ingame and It looks a ton better. @Caleb if I could use that sky this map would really be making progress. Stay tuned for some new screens I am working on the updates. Also if anyone knows how to put tall grass in because I believe it is in Telos and have had some trouble with it.
