removing a specific animation from a unit

So i've been watching some clone wars recently and i've noticed how when the SBD's shoot, Their arms are fully extended as they are doing so.

Unlike the BF2 one which has a "recoil" arm animation after each shot.

Was wondering if there was a (hopefully) simple way of just removing the recoil arm movement. Making it so that he just keeps his arm extended as he does when aiming/firing a shot.
