Unhiding polygons <Solved>

Post by Fluffy_the_ic »

So I'm making a model involving the Jango Fett msh. I imported it in XSI and there's (as always) all of the shadowvolume. So I deleted all of it that's OUTSIDE the model, but now I want to delete all of the stuff that's INSIDE the model. So I hid some polys, and now I can't unhide them without doing all of my work again. How would I unide them? Unless if you can tell me an easy way to just delete all for the shadowvolume, that'll work too.

To unhide polygons on an object press the spacebar to go into object selection mode then select the object with the hidden polygons and press ctrl+h.

Easy way to select and delete the shadowvolume or collision or whatever is to first prepare the object for editing.

Weld the entire model with a tolerance of .001, because when you import an object it will usually have many disconnections between polygons where the UV seams are and this will fix that.

With the mesh welded everything that should be connected will be connected, now you can use the Polygon Island Selection filter to select an entire piece of connected geometry in a single click, then you can choose whether to delete or Extract Delete certain parts if you wish to re-use them later.

Okay, and where would I find the island select filter?

 hehe...srry, can never remember the search thing.
'Nuther q. Whenever I try to translate a poly on the same model, it selects a tone of points around it and moves them, too. How can I fix this?
EDIT: nvm fixed it. This can be locked now.
