I know you can make the leaves and the trunk as separate models but are you able to make it( or classify) the leaves as foliage so that there able to wave like the grass?

Ps if i make a character in modtool 7.5 i can get him back into a older version by creating a obj right?

not really. an obj file would make it all one mesh, so you would have to separate extra stuff from the actuall model before export, and then re-envelope the model because skeletons can't stay in obj files. they disappear. send it as dotXSI maybe

Using crosswalk you can export it as a version 5.0 text and it will import into earlier versions that the exporter will work on like foundations 5.xx

I have done such a thing yes, make sure you check the animation parts on the crosswalk export popup.

Best answer I can give to that is have a look at the shipped asset maps that have trees I think at least one of them has moving leaves but I can't think of which one off the top of my head.

I think it's the trees on Yavin/Naboo.

Leaves, as Battlefront defines them, are set in an .odf file that is separate from the tree model itself. These .odf "leafpatches" are attached to a tree model on specific hardpoints using the AttachODF .odf parameter.

you can do it just as you would do with any two objects
